I had a couple of stripes when I had hair (flat top) & acquired the nickname 'Badger'.

I fought the good fight for a bit when I started to lose my hair and tried re growth products & used colouring as the grey took over.

In the end I got fed up with it all & spent the products money on beer & a decent set of hair clippers & have a become a grade 2 platinum blonde :)

I don't mind gray on men and find that obviously colored hair on men a real turn off. I prefer the gray. For women its a different story. I personally color my hair because I feel to young to be gray and I think it ages me (I'm 35). Also I have recently got hair extensions here. They also make me look younger.

One more question please.

I am interested in dying my hair at home. Any advice on what brand to buy....Clariol ? Is there such thing as permanent color in home kits,or available in the salons only ?

I guess I should do it professionaly a few times but man is it tempting to do it myself.
I've had very good results with the JustForMen product, going 1 shade lighter than I think I should. Clairol products are probably better, but it doesn't keep -- if you only use half the bottle, say, you have to throw away the rest. If you have to recolor every few weeks, that starts getting expensive. The JFM lasts me for at least two colorings and the occasional touch-up.

I've been using JFM's beard color on the muzzle fur, and recently started with their comb-in color for the hair. When you put it on, at first it looks like black shoe polish, yes, but they instruct you not to worry. After ten minutes, you rinse and shampoo in the shower, and it's done. Be sure to start at the sides and back of your hair and do the top/front last; otherwise you might forget to do the back. And in my case that's where the most gray is. I figure that if I miss a *little* gray, it keeps me from looking dyed, and looks a bit more natural.

Get some rubber or nitrile gloves, and that way you can work the color into your hair with your fingers. A comb may not get it in there.
