Green by any other name!

I am on the look out for a green (ish) fedora and NOT for St. Patricks Day although a good cause for sure.

Well I thought leave it to the manufacturers to get specific or romantic when it comes to their names of colors. If it is greenish in color they may say Green, Olive or Sage...

But can you recall any other terms used for the greenish colored fedora?

Green with envy,

I used to have a very light green Stetson Whippet that was from the 1940's. The hat at the time had a brim that i thought was too large. I would wear it on occassion, not tooeasy to match and i didn't look quite that well in sea foam green. I gave it to my bos at the time... he turned to fedora wearing after that and starting placing orders for hats a dozen at a time from Optimo.

Green hats with...

One of the nicest hats I have, a 40s Borsalino fedora,
is a green-grey. It's a real 5/8th so it is just a touch
loose on me, depending on how long it has been since
I got my hair under control. The size, along with the
light felt, makes it almost float on my head.

But I find I almost never wear it. I just don't wear
green that often and I have some nice grey hats.

What colors would you guys combine with a green-grey
fedora? Hint: the answer is not, "whatever JP is wearing". ;)
Although sometimes I think I ought to trade it for
a blue hat, a color I do wear a lot. But then I float it again...

Green or green-gray or some shades of brown. You cannot combine it with anything blue-gray because it looks gross; and even gray-gray looks odd.

I am not sure what it would look like with black, but am not getting good vibes on this. Best to wear gray-gray with black.

When browsing for hats, I came across Levine hats, which offers a fur felt Selentino in emerald color. They did not have a picture of the color, but I would imagine it to be a deeper, brighter color than most greens offered. Hat was $75.

If you find more than you need...

...let me know. A 7 1/8 (LO prefered), green (medium to dark), tall crown, wide brim, fedora is my Holy Grail. I have a forest green Stratton uniform hat that I reshaped, but it is stiff, heavy, and hot. Not qualities I look for in a hat.
