Thrift shop finds ? Only had one success story there , a Carharrt wax jacket for $18. Gave it to a good mate.

Another thrift shop , A "Sally Army" ( Salvation Army !) had an almost new Belstaff leather , asking $750 for it !!

On the other hand I have had SPECTACULAR finds on Aussie made Levi 604's in blue and black. My favourite style !

I don't have 1 grail as I rather a few jackets for different occasions.

For casual meetups and nights out on the town I'll love to be wearing these Thedi cafe racers.

For something flashier I want a half belt from Greg Fields

For travel I would love to have a Freewheelers switchyard or Thedi jacket like these

I see you already have it dialled in :)

I would add this CR for a metal concert

What do you mean by flashier? That jacket looks more tame to me

It's unique and a little more flash than my usual walldrobe so can I say it's flashy to me? :D

Any idea what the model number is for the coat Theodoros is wearing? It’s so odd to me that a vendor with an international following doesn’t have a good website.

Hi Bfd70,

I got the info from his Instagram site its a MTC 1279122 deerskin Screenshot_20200401_222805_com.instagram.android.jpg

Beats me about his website it's quite bad I have to admit.
Worse there's no price or description anywhere.
He's a true artist if I may say so.

I think he relies more on FB and IG these days.

From what I gathered it was something they wanted to fix but were too busy to do so. And now they rely on FB and IG as @Mandarin said

Has anyone been in touch with Thedi recently? I sent an email a month ago and still no answer...
I would assume Corona might slow things down a bit, or are they completely shut down and not even answering emails?

See, that there ^ is a problem for me. Presumably some orders have been fully or partially paid up front. Then communication blackout. No website with status update. $1,000 + is a lot of money for a garment for me. I won’t risk my dinero someplace that doesn’t have a more professional operation. Beautiful jackets and from what I can tell the proprietor seems like a good guy, but I’m just not strung like that.

I think it's a small operation that's facing a growing demand, and they haven't figured out yet how to adapt. I also suspect Theodoros to be in a creative phase, and he seems more interested in developing new models than producing current ones. On top of that, the covid crisis certainly doesn't help.

They posted something yesterday on their IG account so maybe worth a try shooting them a message through that. You also see if they read it.

A by-product of this current world situation appears to be that many folk in the UK are becoming content with less and appreciating the little things more.

Since you're based in the US, you can order from Thurston. And from what I hear they are a good complement to the operation as their communication is very good?
Never used them as based in Europe.

As a direct customer, the biggest issues I had were some (generally acceptable but depends on your tolerance) delays in getting the jackets, but they otherwise always delivered.

They make it up by far with their product which in quite a few occasions exceeded my expectations

I have done just that. It was a good experience all around and a very fine jacket. However, i stand by my assertion.

That was my feeling as well a couple years back when I ordered my Thedi. I know that plenty of people here have ordered directly from him and gotten great results, but I just didn’t feel comfortable since I couldn’t even figure out how to contact him through the website. Carrie was great as always and if I ever wanted another jacket from him I would go through Thurston.

That doesn't scream metal. That scream Devil and everything else, even guys in biker bars would give you a wide berth!
A couple of horns sticking out at the shoulders n back won't look amiss on this jacket lol!

With such a specialised operation its sad that communications is a let down but I gathered he's a decent bloke but, not so much into the bit of daily runnings.

If you're in the US, Carrie at Thurston would be the best person and if u're in some other part of Europe this was what they posted on their site.

@Carlos840 I was talking to Theodoros this week - btw. I prefer to call him by WhatsApp as I always reach him this way. He was forced to close his facilities around March 5th and won't be allowed to open before April 25th due to Covid-19 which probably explains the delays or he simply overlooked your e-mail. Moreover this is still a small family-owned company which has been fastly growing in the past 1-2 years. He's working at least 12 hours per day (Monday-Saturday) but it seems that Covid-19 hit him so fast....he's also having raw material (supply) problems and need to keep his staff happy which all cause him a lot of problems as he currently cannot process many orders from >25 differerent retail outlets all over the world. I think even if he overlooked your e-mail he deserves another chance especially due to the current situation which also affects his raw material supply chain and his jacket manufacturing due to temporary closure. I was always happy with his support and quality of jackets and he always kept his promises so far.

Sure, you wouldn't go direct because you expect a better operation but you would go again witt Thurston I presume.
I personally don't mind lack of communication as long as it is "honest". I have met Theodoros, as mentionned by @Robbie79 , he is a hard-working man focusing on making jackets. I prefer it to be this way rather than have better communication and worse jackets. He is the real deal, all substance and little show.

Yes, I have been looking at that jacket for a while, but kept having other priorities. That being said, I do have a red badalassi jacket planned, but it has been delayed as I wanted to go to Thessaloniki to finalise it in person. It's only a delay, gives me more time to think it through :)
