Thank you for sharing these photos, Super! I really enjoy 'em and would love to see more. That lion looks positively ancient. Leopards are beautiful (what's that they're eating? hog?) and I was about to start whining about the lack of hyenas. :) Rhinos are awesome, too.
+1,great pictures.

JC graciously lengthened the back of my Modoc just a bit.

John has contacted me and my wait is almost over!

Any updates on the Modoc? Thoughts on the goat vs Shinki?

I gave serious thought to goat, but in the end I chose the Shinki HH for my Ventura. I figured it may be my only opportunity to get a GW jacket and I didn't want to miss out on the Shinki. It is fantastic stuff and is looks better every time I wear it.

I do admit that I have given serious thought (in the last few days) to getting back in line for a GW Arcadia - in goatskin.

Congrats PN. If you do not yet have a Shinki jacket, I would definitely go with Shinki. Likewise, if this is your first GW jacket, I recommend Shinki. I choose Goat because I already have several Shinki jackets, including a GW Imperial, and I wanted a tad of variety. That said, part of me still wishes I choose Shinki for my Modoc.

I know everyone seems to agree it was worth the wait, but how long is that? Last I heard it could take anything up to two years..

There may be some deluxe goatskin that is better than shinki but I've never seen it

I paid my deposit in January 2015 so 2 years is pretty close to the mark.

That's very interesting PN. I paid mine in August 2014 yet still no word from JC or reply to my emails. I had assumed he must be behind on orders and too busy for emails

This post did not ring true to me either. I have emailed John twice in the last year and both times I was pleasantly surprised by the lengthy and thoughtful responses he provided to my questions. He is a class act.

I concur: My personal experience too is that JC is a class act and then some. His passion for what he does and personal integrity shines through. He seems to be meticulous and thoughtful in everything he does.
