hey guys, to be clear, I wasn't asking for specifics on how @Jonesy landed this jacket because I wanted "this" jacket.. (this one, nor any that JC makes for himself will fit me.) but I like a good story and I am aware of several other guys who have received the unexpected note from JC asking if they would be interested in a jacket he has on hand that would fit them..also I am curious to know the rate at which he is back to making jackets..Sloan received his A-2 last week and then this one shows up so I am starting to wonder if there is a finish line in sight.

It's a great jacket. Fits you great, Jonesy. Nothing that'd have me utterly floored after waiting for it for four years, but that goes for any jacket from any maker, but it's a very nice jacket. Love the cuffs.
Thanks Monitor. Pretty much all of my jackets were bought used with no wait. I love the cuffs too. The corduroy backing and storm cuffs are definitely cool.

Hey Boyo
I always enjoy your contributions to TFL. I thought this jacket would be too small on you. It was pointed out to me by a guy I bought my GW A-1 from on VLJ that I am the same size as JC. This turns out to be a stroke of good luck for me. MMs insight into JCs process sounds accurate. I bet that with the new button hole machine brought online recently that production will pick up. I can't help but think that you will be receiving your patiently awaited jacket quite soon. I hope so.
Peace.

The texture/surface of this GW Hercules' leather looks fantastic. Can't stop looking at its fabulous photos.

The brand that shall not be named which also makes a Hercules repro actually did copy the textile bit in the collar.
It is a very cool detail i think, surprised JC would not try to include it!

May be that not all of the originals had the collar piece. They came in different leather colors and especially different interiors.

I have this inner collar on several other jackets. Rough Wear Clothing company had an inner collar they raved about.

Here is the "unmentioned" Bill Kelso Hercules

I believe John offers the collar piece as an option. His original has it, as well as storm cuffs. Being in Southern California, I will most likely opt-out of the felt piece. I go back-and-forth on the cord lined with storm cuffs vs leather lined without.

Terry, is it made of black Liberty HH?

Another nice option - to offer any removable knitted inner collar (like that which was mentioned above), with buttons to fasten it to the jacket.
Finally, knitted collar + a pipe = nice combo as an optional Hercules' kit!)

It's a shame that BK's jackets come with such an attitude. I remember their Hercules being particularly nice, though it came with a colossal price tag at the time.

Man I love your recreations of the ad. Very clever and I have to say....that jacket suits you to an absolute T. Couldn't be better. Certainly one of my all time fav jackets posted in these parts. That Horween is the perfect blend of CXL characteristics and easy wearability. Above board craftsmanship. Spectacular fit. What more is there?

For So Cal I’d go without the storm cuffs but keep the cord. The cuff rolls up nicely and I think the cord looks cool. Plus, the second button makes the cuff fit nice and snug around the wrist to keep out that Cali cold as it were.

The cord on the cuffs is a nice touch. I'm wondering if doing cord under the collar would affect any collar shaping I might try.

Have I mentioned how awesome your jacket is?
