Anyone heard anything from John recently? I've emailed him a few of times over the past year and a couple times in the past week, and I've got nothing back. While I was relaxed about it, I get the impression I'm not the only person who's had the silent treatment.

Good pun, i like it.

I was told on the 10th of February that "we had the ball rolling" and that i should expect "faster answering".
I sent an email the 7th of April asking for an update, no answer.

I am starting to get a Lawless Denim flashback and wondering if i will ever see an Imperial...

My guess is - and it's just a guess - that he only talks to those at or very near to the top of his queue. He is after all a one man show and if he started swapping emails with all snd sundry from his 3 year waiting list then well, that would quickly become very time consuming. Would slow down his turnsround times even more.

In my mind, having dealt with him several times, there is no possibility of John defrauding anybody and of this I feel quite certain. The guy is an old school stand up gent. I get what the frustrations are, and if this type of situation is unacceptable to you then that is perfectly understandable too. But my personal 2 bob on the matter is that there's a point of no return in that queue and that once I'm past 18 months I'm seeing it through.

Disclaimer: if I sound like a Good Wear apologist well I suppose that's because I am! I like his jackets and I like the man

Love his jackets, his initial correspondence was fine and friendly. By all accounts, my turn should have come up several months ago... I do think that if you've put your money down, you buy yourself at the very least a 'you're x in line' message two years on.

Wasn't yours delivered in two years though? I think the frustration probably comes from people whom have waited longer and may have been in the queue ahead of you...can't say for sure but that's why I know I could never do it. I love the jackets, no denying the beauty there but no way I could wait that out and non replies to email would send me into full on child like tantrum...I'm not proud of that but a man's gotta know his limitations...

I jumped on 02/03/2016, so that's two and a bit years without an email after the initial exchange. Now, comparatively speaking, Boyo and Carlos win the bragging rights but my understanding was/is that it was an 18 to 24 month waiting period. I don't doubt John's a gent, but at what point do I have to say 'What the hell?'. Even if there is a backlog with people not making their mind up, machinery issues and personal stuff, none of this precludes the basic courtesy of communication. I spend a third of my day at work just sending emails and replying to phone calls because I know that if I didn't, the other two-thirds wouldn't happen.

Yes, several messages exchanged about my order (coming up imminently).

I contacted in March with a request to buy the Imperial on the sale page. Never heard back. Someone got it. I’m glad the business model is working for him. By all accounts he’s a good fella with a beautiful product. The baggage however ain’t for me.

I sent him an email about two or three weeks ago, regarding a zipper, with no reply. I'm a past customer who always had a fine relationship with him. I'm not sure there is any rhyme or reason to who is responded to and who isn't. However, my last purchase was in 2010. So...

My basic point is the lack of anything approaching communication with people who have handed over money. If I even just received an email saying 'it looks like a three year waiting period now, do you want to stick with it or take a refund?', then I'd at least I'd have the option. Does anyone actually think the point I'm making is unreasonable?

Nope. Seems quite reasonable. The situation is perplexing.
