Good hat for the Florida heat?

Are these the same as the screen type that come in boonie hats? If so where can you buy them?:)

Nope. Just plain open brass eyelets. Setting them inside a hat crown is a bit tricky, but probably not much more so than doing the little eyelets. Side of small hammer, short blows.

This classic panama from PanamaBob, reblocked and ribboned by Art would look sweet in the Florida heat.

RBH,you're getting me all excited! I just shipped a Panama Bob off to Art, the magician, to reblock for me and rework for me. I was already excited about having an Art hat, but now it's even worse.

My search then continues...if I can find a Riverz for cheap...I may pick one up and experiment with it...Maybe I'll pick up a booney hat again...maybe an Akubra Territory...with big eyelets...[huh] I'll just carry a box load of various hats in the car to meet the immediate needs/situations I find myself in...Ahhh to find the elusive super hat....:D ...How I love this sickness...:D :D :D

I had Gary White make me one, then someone bought it off of my head at the course. We'll see how long this Gus Miller, Batsakes Bros. lasts. It was for a customer, got smashed, so reworked in USA.

I like that one, Robert. May we see more views of it? If you have something airy like that for sale, I might be interested. PM me, please? Thanks.

IC...I had a boonie I put through heck:D ...They are great hats...and the new pattern would be cool also...though the standard OD is still fine for my use.
Right now I'm lovin' the new PanamaBob!...However...if one of those brown panamas pop up soon, I'll snag one of those also!:D

I've been eyeing those Riverz hats...which one do you have?...I want something to float around with on the rivers where I live.:D ...I don't think an Artlite or my new or old for that matter, panama, would take the icy waters...I guess I could vent the Riverz to make it breath better....[huh] :D

I have the Riverz Delta great hat especially while wearing it kayaking.

Colby Jack, if you're looking for an on-water hat, the Delta is very good - I've used mine a lot in the last year and it looks new. I don't find it completely hot like some others, but then I've never gone to the Amazon. NYC has its share of humidity though. I've been known to dip it on very hot days. Orvis has a new version with nicer looking poly straw, but I couldn't find one in the store to try on, plus it's a little pricey:

For the original poster, if you're wanting a hipster look with a stingy brim, how about this one - at least the black straw won't show sweat.
