Trying out a Vanson B in competition weight, posting for a fit check.

Feels pretty snug around the middle, and the shoulders feel a little big, but I feel like it would settle in after a while.

Thoughts?
I think it looks good.nothing to worry about there.it will feel better once it takes on your shape.

I think yours looks pretty good starting, CW develops.

My B in Octagon with very little break in, but settled

It looks OK. However, the shoulders and sleeves aren't going to shrink. The middle isn't going to grow. So it will likely never feel quite right. I would always go for a bit oversized over a bit tight. In your case you have both. Maybe that model isn't the best choice for you if comfort is important. The competition weight isn't going to be as forgiving for the 1st 10 years of wear.

Sorry to ask again but surely one of you Vanson nuts can help identify this intriguingly minimalist model with just two (vertical) pockets and no belt or epaulettes? Found pics of a different example, here with a rather garish custom patch!

I may be wrong but I think it could be a C2 riders jacket,,,nice clean front,I would certainly have bought this if it wasn't for the back additions, hideous.

Appreciate the reply! I’m inclined to think it’s its own model though—even the most heavily deleted C2 retains more of its DNA e.g. diagonal pockets, no yoke (see attached, which looks ‘wrong’ to my eye with all the deleted components!). I’ve seen 2 or 3 of this model floating about, never in Japan, which is also why I think it is less likely custom….

My bad! I couldn’t find anything when I googled it—will see if I can get an answer from Vanson. I think it does the 2 pocket thing better than the usual stripped down C2s…

I trawled through loads before I saw it, I should have screenshot it,it was new and looked great, looked shorter than the jacket you posted and more like the original with the patches.

The plot thickens—hopefully Vanson get back to me! I wish companies like Vanson and Schott had jacket family trees online. I did start to compile a ‘Vanson alphabet’ photo folder to try and get a handle on the models (and quickly gave up!) but of course the alphabetised models aren’t the full story…

I’ve seen a few of those, I think it could be a collab as well since it looks similar to other minimalist x-zip collabs with back yoke and 2-way front zip like the daredevil collab they did with thurston bros.

Btw, have you guys ever seen a vanson leather jacket with a “SM” size label, and is it meant to say “SMall” or “Small-Medium”, or what numeric size would that be equal to?
