Going Atomic With Dalton

Dalton #10 is just perfect. A fairly heavy weight felt on this one, definitely winter weight. No flaws at all; it was apparently lightly worn.

Dalton Premier Quality. Basic gray with black ribbon and raw edge brim. I usually view the presence of a wind trolley as an upper level accoutrement, so I'm assuming a higher quality level. Given it's a ten dollar hat, I think tat would put this sometime in the 40s. Of course, I'm never sure about these Daltons as there seems to be few clues to the age of their hats.

Could find very little on Schreiber's in Scranton. Only a newspaper article that was blocked for me that I think said the former building at 415 Spruce Street succumbed to fire in 2020.

Specs:

5 1/2" x 2 5/8" RE.
2" Sweatband

I still haven't brushed/steamed it, so all creases are quick and dry. On with the pix.

Obligatory headshot. I was lucky this 7 1/8 is generous enough for a comfy fit.

Nothing wrong with that hat!

Just scored my first Dalton. Albeit, a short brim beauty. It arrived in what appears to be new unworn condition. The liner says Worlds Finest. The sweatband is stlll soft and supple. Seeing how little info is around, I have no clue to the age. The rich green fur with black bow and binding are set off well by a pristine orange liner. Brim snaps up or down perfectly and easy to shape even without steam. I wish the brim had a bit more width, but I'm very happy with it as is.

Crown5-1/4"
Brim2-14" to curl
Ribbon1-5/8"
Weight130g

Previous owner had it creased fedora style in a diamond, so some remnants are still visible. I decided to push it back to the traditional center crease, but considering the color scheme of grey, brown, and dusty rose I included a very soft pinch since it presents a bit less formal.

Very nice. I have not been blessed with a Dalton, but my search continues.

Just received my Dalton fedora today that I purchased off of Ebay a couple of weeks ago. Unbeknownst to me, the seller was a fellow Fedora Lounge member which was a riot in itself. Great hat and the color is beautiful.
Several days later I found this miniature Dalton hat box on Ebay as well. At first, I thought it was the same one posted here, but I looked at the marks on the one posted on this forum but after careful inspection, it's definitely not the same box.
Does this qualify me to be inducted into the Dalton Fan Club? and how do you fold this hat up to fit into the box? ;)

Good get. No, the other box is mine and still sits on my desk.

To solve your problem, you'll need a pair of binoculars.

Look through them the wrong way and the hat will shrink enough to get it in the box.

I just noticed something very interesting about the Eagle crest in my hat lining ... it has an "E" in the middle instead of a "D" (see photo below). Thoughts?
