Goatskin is a great leather. Very tough, yet not heavy, although heavier goat can be sourced, it is typically thinner than cowhide, but tougher for a given thickness, and requires no break-in. Most will say that goat doesn't show age very quickly at all, but I have to believe that this depends at least in part on the tannage.
My M22a goat has aged beautifully nicest goat I have handled

I really like the weight and drape of goat, particularly in slightly warmer weather.
I’ve only had one jacket in steer (LVC Menlo), but I didn’t like the weight/grain at all, and sold the jacket on quickly.
I’m a massive convert to deerskin: similar weight to steer, but much more comfortable with superb drape.
I'm with you on this. I love deerskin very much now.

If you don't need the grain of horsehide, goat is a fantastic option. Thinner than horse and steer usually are, but still quite tough. There are a lot of great examples of goatskin around as well.

What's the name of the company and contact details, or is that a secret?
Haha. Definetly not a secret. This was a eBay purchase. I asked for a company name, but the seller said there isn't one and that he works with a local tailor. Whether or not that is the truth I don't know.

It looks pretty good. The only thing odd to me are the cuffs. They look to be on the wrong sleeves. I prefer the buttons/tabs to be on the outer side.

Nice. What's the ebay contact - I'm interested to see what they can do.

Ive got a goat and cow langlitz and goat and deer riding gloves. The cow is stiff, it pretty much stands up on its own and just feels more dense. The goat feels spongy and stretchy by comparison. My gloves stretch quite a bit when i put them on and theyre very flexible. Deer has the flexibility of goat but not the sponginess or stretch. Thats my take on the 3.

Agreed. Having the buttons on the underside of my wrists rather than the side is a bit odd. Because of my work (cabinet maker) I'm always mindful of any metal or sharp objects that may collide with a finished product. This jacket would fail as job safe for me. Not that I wear many leather jackets to work . It does look a bit off to me as well.

View attachment 193037 What do you guys think? I am still a rookie when it comes to quality control on these jackets. The leather is extremely soft! Softer than any of my others by far. Fit is good, had they tailored it for me I'd have the waist brought way in. But other than that i can't complain. The wrists are fairly tight which I really like. They stay put and don't bounce around on my hands. All zippers are YKK and are must smoother than any of my Talon zips. The cuffs do have snap buttons, I wish they were traditionally sewn buttons. The entire lining is a "grippy" cotton which makes sliding my arms down the narrow sleeve a little more difficult but not horrible by any means.

Sorry if I have "missed" this info but WHO is the "Australian tailor" of mention ?

It is a bit unclear. There is no evidence of a tailor, just an eBay seller who makes claims to domestic work. The jacket looks pretty good, however and, because of its stylings and the alleged cheap price, I have assumed it was manufactured in India or Pakistan. But it sounds like a fledgling business idea that has not flourished.
