So many great woman have been mentioned! After going through all the pages, only one woman comes to my mind. And admittedly, it's an odd one and not from the Era.

Sarah Bernhardt. A bit of background . . . according to my mother, her grandmother used to say "Oh that's sooo Sarah Bernhardt!" whenever she thought anything was posh and extravagent (meant as a compliment). And when I was being a melodramatic child, my mother used to call me Sarah Bernhardt. I did numerous book reports on her through school and have a six-foot poster of her in Hamlet, framed and hanging in my sewing room. I would have loved to have met her or saw her on stage!

I hope you ladies won't think me boorish for posting in your thread.

Of the "Era" ladies I have always loved Lucille Ball, Heady Lamar and Gene Tierney, but another particular fave "crush" of mine has always been

Veronica Lake

For "modern", this woman has stopped me in my tracks from the first time I ever laid eyes upon her.

Jennifer Connelly

So ladies, any of you have a crush for Veronica or Jennifer? :D

I find the young Lillian Gish entrancingly beautiful:

Also any Gibson Girl or Ziegfield Follies girl! Something about those heavy eyelids, long wavy hair and gauzy ethereal costumes has always just epitomized beauty and glamour to me.
Here's the rather voluptuous Camille Clifford:

I also came across this image in a book recently and was so surprised... behold, Ms Clifford sans tight-laced corset, adopting the looser trends of the late teens:

i have adored Theresa Harris from the first time I saw her on screen. I was also very happy that she did so many films even though it's mostly bit parts.

I will agree with both the Ava and the Angela Bassett.

I have had a crush on Angela since i saw the Tina Turner movie. There is something about her that is so, well, regal...she just carries herself so well... and she's simply stunning too.

Can i just add my own coupla crushes.

Sophia Loren

Stockard Channing

Marianne Faithful
