That's the thing. We can flap our gums all we want, but nobody *knows* the answer to the Ultimate Question. No one will ever know until their own moment comes.

when I was 14 I had a CE2K, witnessing a UFO at about 150 to 200 Yds, it lasted about 3 or 4 minutes and was very intimidating...
When I was 42 I had an Out of Body Experience in a Hospital while I was in a Near Death condition...It was life changing...
One problem is the public, much like this thread, lumps together what are vastly different topics as if ghosts, extraterrestrial life, time travel, if it's even possible, and extrasensory communication are related phenomena. There is no relationship and one or more can exist independently of the others. I blame Barnes and Noble for sticking the UFO books in the "New Age" section!

That said, I have witnessed a a UFO, actually two, flying in formation. It was dusk. I was 8 or 9 at the time, standing in the front yard looking up over the roof of our house. At the time (vintage content here...) I would describe what I saw as looking like a hula hoop with Christmas lights strung around it's circumference. It, or at least the lights, was slowly rotating. Because of the darkness, I couldn't tell if there was anything solid within the perimeter of the "hula hoop." They were flying one behind the other from approximately north to south. I first spotted them when they were more or less abeam my position and watched until they were out of sight over the horizon, which took about 30-40 seconds. Already a life long aviation buff, I was very familiar with conventional aircraft, and these were not! Since I assumed at the time life was likely elsewhere in the universe, the event didn't have any great emotional impact on me, I just thought "hey, that's cool."

Fair enough point.

Nope. Not a fair point. It was a misunderstanding of the point of the thread. It has been clarified.
I must
I was going to post that in my pre-teens I had numerous encounters with UFOs.
Luckily, my dear dad (may he rest in peace) was not too good at hitting the target.
On the other hand, my ma never missed but in all fairness, she mostly spanked me & hardly
threw something at me.
I may have misunderstood the topic.
I apologize.
Cheers & XOXOXO

I wouldn't doubt it after the week I have had... HA!
So....are you suggesting that it's the same neural activity on our part that makes different folks see ghosts or ufos or bigfoots or whatever, and that this is indeed the same activity that would explain esp and related phenomena?
I am aware that the human mind is as mysterious and unexplored as the darkest depths of the oceans, or the farthest reaches of space, but that still doesn't make any of the things listed mutually exclusive.
