Manfred, The Echter Mayser is super! I really like the felt color and ribbon width + bow work. Also nice find with the Gubener Trachten.
I like this clasic ¡¡¡My newest found today. Nice black Gubener Trachten Dreispitz. Size 59, with a large feather headdress
That´s write, I have 3 clasics and when I use any is wearing in trachten mode ¡¡¡Steve, 150719541, Thanks for the kind words. Trachten Hats are popular in Bavaria and Austria. Its very Clasic.
You are really reeling in those Maysers, Manfred. :thumb:
I wonder about these sweatband date stamps? I see them on German and Austrian hats but the question is who applied them? The oldest example I have is a 1940 Habig Homburg.
I agree they appear to be retail stamps. I would say the Mayser with the stitched liner is more like early 1960s. I will check into it and see if I can get an answer.
By the way the only hat company I have come across that consistently (going back to the early 1900s) displayed (on the paper label) the production year was P. & C. Habig.
This is the P. & C. Habig sweat band with a November 29, 1940 stamp.
This is paper label from the same hat. The last two numbers are the production year #
