Late 1940's to mid-1950's German bound edge snap brim hat, marked "Globus extra".
Cool logo design and plenty of character in the bash and crease and slight patina on the ribbon.

Size 57.

I need to stop by here more often (like I need to spend more time on the Lounge).

Such different and beautiful examples of the craft. Might need to add a new room on...

+1 to Charlies post. I stop by, not often enough and marvel at the felts and hats. To all, and especially Steve - WOW those are fedoras!

Lot of German late 1930's hats in great condition.
(The black hats are only a bit dusty.)

They are all 54-55 cm sizes.
(PM me if anyone is interested in this lot).

1. Brown lightweight Fedora "Alois Pichler - Wien"

2. Light-grey lightweight Fedora "Kaulfuss - Hüte, Landshut / Bayern"

3. Black bound-edge snap-brim fedora "Echter Mayser - Superbe"

4. Light-grey Homburg "Knagge & Peitz"
(a leading menswear department store in Munich and Stuttgart - likely this is a Rockel made store-brand)

5. Black Homburg by French maker "Tirard" for "Breiter", the top hat-store in Munich.

Thanks guys.

Here another Sz. 57 "Prima Haarhut" (Rockel) Homburg.
There were two tickets under the sweatband... place numbers for the racecourse or theater?

Echter Borsalino, size Point 6 1/2, near Mint condition, date stamped 17.5.29 (May 17, 1929). The felt is very soft / light weight with a unique box bow design for this style hat and also has a wind cord. It has an fantastic over welt curled brim and the non-reed sweatband is very finely stitched to the hat. I was able to take a photo of the paper label which has a hand written Point size and the words "Bismuto" (Bismuth) and "Sanboca" (?). The Berlin store / hat company (Max Eckard) that sold it did not survive WWII. The box is from a Berlin hat store (Philipp Neubauer Berlin)that survived WWII but not the locations listed (I have / had a few hats from this store). This a the same model / seller as the previous Point 5 1/2 size Max Eckard Echter Borsalino.
