Received this beauty, not much a fan of the traditional style band, but this felt is superb seal finish it is so fine and soft to the touch, it captures the light really well , I'm thinking 50's Rheinhut

Fantastic! Don't see many Trachten hat with this type of form (city dress meets Trachten). I think you are right about it being from the 1950s. My guess would be late 1950s maybe a bit later.

I recently received this old Austrian postcard. The Old Hat Maker Workshop at "Technisches Museum Wien" was financed by Peter Habig who was the founder P. & C. Habig Wien. He died in 1916 so probably the workshop was constructed in the very early 1900s. I don't believe it survived WWII but I am checking with the museum. The hat makers last name Hasenreiter is Hare Rider in English.

Wonderful Mayser my friend, the color, felt are amazing! That is truly one of your spectacular hat's .
If I have time I will post my new Rehfus Melone I bought on a fleamarket this month! Very interesting Melone. An old liner and a relative new retailer sweatband. I try it tomorrow.

So here are the photos of the Rehfus Zephyr Melone in Size 55,5. The Condition is outstanding.
The liner looks old but the sweatband is a retailer sweatband and definitely younger. Also the liner is glued not stitched.

Manfred, Wow that is a great find! I am not really sure about it's age because it's in such good condition. It's possible it goes back to the late 30s early 40s or a post war hybrid (mix of old and new). How much does it weigh? It's a Zephyr but doesn't have the weight listing like your older one. Also Thanks! regarding the old Mayser Velour.

So it's not a super Zephyr! :) I will see what I can find on Hans Körner Düsseldorf. I tend to think it's from the 1950s but maybe modified WWII era stock. As we know the company didn't start back to production until 1951.

Thanks Steve and Alan.
It's a pity that Rehus closed his Doors at 1964. Rehfus or better the Oberländer was more a hunter and book autor as a hat manufacturer! :)
