I think this black velour (59cm) is late 1960s maybe later. The liner is sewn in which is not the case with the others I have of this same style. It also has the old label style but I can't read the numbers. The model appears to be named after the Lower Austrian town of Geras.

Ottmar Reich

Ottmar Reich (1980s 1990s)

This is not a high price hat but of good quality. I like the dark blue color and it has a very large brim and high crown. Ottmar Reich were located in Lindenburg, Germany. Lindenburg was a major hat town and Mayser eventually relocated there from Ulm.

Mayser

Mayser Long Hair (1970s early 1980s)

The felt on this new old stock Mayser has a great feel and look. The hat is designed to have both the front and back brim snapped down.

Böhm Fedora (late 1960s early 1970s)

This is a rare new old stock hat that I received as a gift. I really like the color combination and black binding and ribbon treatment. This one is very similar to my Fraenkel. The Böhm's restarted the company after WWII out of Vienna and eventually combined with Fraenkel.

Peschel Hat Holder

This vintage Peschel hat display holder was a gift from a friend. Peschel was one of the three Neutitschein (now Nový Jičín) world class hat companies (Hückel, Brüder Böhm, Peschel). They also had a operation in Dinkelsbühl, Germany after WWII.

Johann Hückel´s Söhne Velourshüte

Johann Hückel´s Söhne listing in the 1873 "Amtlicher Catalog der Ausstellung der im Reichsrathe vertretenen Koenigreiche und Laender Oesterreichs" mentions Velour hat (Velourshüte) production from hare (Haar) fur felt.

Habig

1959 with a nice brush and tassels. Has a short overwelt with hidden stitching then trimmed giving Cavanagh edge look.

Nice Habig. I have a similar one from about the same time period and also made for the US market. I posted it earlier in the thread.

Here it is.

P. & C. Habig Homburg

P. & C. Habig Homburg

This Habig Homburg doesn't have a paper label (or I couldn't find it) but I am thinking late 50s early 60s. It is in perfect condition.

Once again a great Homburg! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Yesterday, I met with some gentlemen for lunch. One of my friends is already 97 and he wore one of his obviously newer, late 60ies Habig hats. :)

By the way, I donned a Derby and got very positive comments for that. Some gentlemen told me they still have their Derbys .... hope to see them in action, soon.

Thanks! I am not really sure on the dating with this one since I couldn't find the paper label. It could even be late 60s.

Wow 97! That is great that he wore a Habig. You should take some pictures. I have some Derbys on the way so will post once they arrive.

One more gem added to your treasure - well done!

Thanks! I think I need rehab for my Homburg addiction. :)
