This is an example this says Topas but it has the g logo inside on a small sticker
I also have to hats with antilope stamped on them one says luckenwalde the other does not but they are the same logo on the liner

Going home soon to sort out this Wilke, just been told my hat expander stretcher has arrived so should help the steam and sizing!

My guess with the Topas (not sure who made it ?DDR?) would be early 1960s maybe late 50s. Is the liner glued? The ones that are marked Luckenwalder and Guben Hutfabrik are DDR made hats. I believe the Wilke was made in West Germany. My guess would be 1960s. It looks like it had a liner at one time. C. G. Wilke was located in Guben (East Germany) up to WWII. It is possible the mark was also used by one of the DDR companies. A good guide is to check for glued liners. You start to see glued liners in the early 1960s sometimes late 1950s. Also the DDR made hats usually have similar construction characteristics.

Spent a bit of time on the wilke yesterday evening
I think it turned out ok a few moth bites and more permeant marks but it was pretty happy with the result as this is my first time

WEGENER hat

Found this quite nice hat today at the local car boot, it's a very nice condition WEGENER, the photo's make it look a bit washed out but in fact it's in very nice almost unworn condition, photo's are pre being brushed and wiped down so some dust is still evident...I guess it's a 58cm as it fits me perfectly but needs re shaping?

It appears to have a stitched liner (in the 60s they become glued) so I would guess early 1960s maybe late 1950s. Biber is beaver in German. I am sure it looks better after clean-up. Nice find!
