Sam, Nice Trachten! A. Peschel Dinkelsbühl made great hats! Is the liner stitiched? If so my guess would be late 1950s very early 1960s. The felt should really shine with a steam and brush.
OCMH, Thanks! I am not sure what this cord is for. It's not like a usual wind trolley.
First old soft felt C. G. Wilke that I have come across so this is a rare one. It's most likely from the 1930s but could be older. Unfortunately the non-reed sweatband was hand stitched back in place but otherwise complete. Fantastic silver gray Velour that is very close in quality to JHS Velour. I assume that Hut-Seidel Frankfurt a.0. (der Oder in east Germany) is related to Hut-Seidel München.
Alan, Thank you! One day I might actually find one that I can wear. This one looked terrible in the auction photos but came right back to life with a heavy dose of steam.
Manfred, Thanks! It's tiny but I have no idea what the 6 is for on the paper label. It certainly isn't a French Point 6 because that would be a size 59cm and this probably around 55cm. Do you know what the "ma??" word on the paper label could be?
K. & R. Lembert Pilot Antilope, Size 59cm, probably late 1950s early 1960s. It has a Stetson like thin ribbon design and the model name "Pilot" could point to a Stratoliner influence. It's in good shape but unfortunately missing the liner. K. & R. Lembert Augsburg, Germany is still in business. By the way this is a nice example of an Antilope finish for the person that inquired a week or so ago.
Steve, wow, great find! I really like the look of the Lembert, looks a bit like a Strat!
By the way, photos of the 30s Borsalino are in the Borsalino thread.
Manfred, Thanks! I just posted on your old Echter Borsalino. It's fantastic that it turned out to be from the 1930s. Also great work with the replacement ribbon / bow!
Manfred, That is a fantastic / pristine C. G. Wilke Melone! Congrats! The model name "Electron" is great! I assume the 6 on the paper label means 56cm. The paper label is similar to my "Blitz" C. G. Wilke Velour.
