My 32 Felts

I have to admit, I was kind of shocked when I laid all my felts out for this photograph. I thought I should document them before I start switching over to straws for the summer.

I really didn't realize I had this many. Some were somewhat costly (custom Art, 2 johnnyphi hats, vintage Adam Strat clone, vintage Whippet and Borso... all very much worth it, in my opinion), but many were in the fifty to sixty buck range, and several more were steals or cheap project hats that I have restored to wearable condition myself.

I'm a big head... 7 1/2 or 5/8 LO. I consider myself really fortunate to have found so many hats that work for me. Most of these are vintage. The only moderns are the Art and two Akubras.

So... here they are. Dates are my best, semi-educated guess. A few are known for sure, and a few I really wonder about (hence the guess and the question mark). On the restorations, I have listed a date for the felt only if the hat has been completely rebuilt. If I have just cleaned, blocked, and stitched a little, I just note a date for the whole hat.

Modern Stetsons Firenze and Royal, two Dobbs, Akubra Squatter, Camp Draft, and Federation IV.
Three old Banana Republic Travel and Safari
and, of course, no collection is complete without a BCF Huckel.
