Yesterday, my sister brought this kid over to her grad party and he had the gauged ears, tattoos, and a pro-marijuana t-shirt on. I would have flipped if that guy came into my home.

I've gotten to know a lot of people like this lately. To each their own. I can understand that some people had a past with them. I cannot imagine life without them, but we're in the gun business.

I don't care if a person has marijuana on his t-shirt, just don't bring that vile crap into my home

- Taxidermy animals.........

Yep, second that.

Not forbidden but that would be the last thing I'd have at home. I would never have those poor mounted dead creatures hanging from the wall, looking at me with their glassy eyes, no,no,no ..... it's not natural...it's sad and strange.

I was at our local antique/vintage marketplace today to pick up some linens, and when I turned a corner I was confronted by an enormous mounted black bear -- rearing up on a log with his nose wrinkled up and his mouth open. I suppose that's better than using his skin on the floor for a rug, but it's still a depressing sight to see.

In the Victorian era it was not unusual for well-to-do pet owners to memorialize their departed four-legged companions by having them stuffed and mounted. I'm pretty sure that in an antique shop somewhere (not any I've been to though) is "Napoleon", Lord Belvedere's beloved prize bulldog, in all his stuffed and mounted glory.

Sharks/Candy-grams.

Bwahahaha! I solved this problem by latching onto a shark biologist... I maintain that he keeps me safe from such disasters.

You will not find any live plants in my house. They're not banned, I just can't keep them alive so I've given up.

Derogatory references to race or sexual preference are not allowed - any such language will see a body swiftly evicted.

Centipedes. Toys that talk.

Flies, but good luck during the summer time.
I have a fly trap in the yard that attracts them, but honestly a few just have to see what I have in my house.
I do have one of those electric tennis racket things, but I need to work on my form. I'm successful, but not enough to play the pro circuit.

About the only things that are vehemently disallowed are things I'm allergic to: walnuts, kiwis, bananas, and penicillin (which also means some mold-cheeses are out). However, I'd definitely give the stink-eye to Nazi memorabilia and taxidermied things. We both take off our shoes indoors as do most of our friends, but I do own a vaccuum cleaner for a reason. And there's no smoking inside, but I have a lovely patio smokers are welcome to use :)

Straws - the kind you drink through, not the kind you wear on your head. Absolutely creep me out. Also can't stand to go out to eat with folks because they all want to suck their drinks through a straw - yuck! You're not 6 years old, enough of the vile things, already!

And to this day one can visit Binks at Bates on Jermyn Street:

A friend of mine has a beautiful, black fur wrap that dates to the Victorian period. The story from the family who gave it to her is that it is made of the pelts of two cats (no faces / feet or tails still on it!) who were much loved, and when they died the owner could not bear to be parted from them.

Never met dear Vlad, but old Mao is looking rather well these days (assuming I've seen him on at least one of those occasions, and not the waxwork...).
