For Sale: Five Vintage Hats - $225 Shipped CONUS

I am selling the following items for a deceased friend's widow. I am not a hat expert. I'll gladly answer your questions. $225 shipped within the CONUS. Payment is to be by PayPal or US Postal Money Order please. The owner set the price; it is firm; I don’t intend to negotiate on her behalf. She also has a couple of hat boxes (Dunlap & Dobbs) that may be of interest but I think it would cost more to ship them than they are worth unless I’m missing something here. I might be interested in the Knox, how wide is the brim? For that matter, how wide is the brim on all the hats?

okie, those pictures don't really show much. Aside from having to buy 3 sizes, it would be a leap of faith purchase. What condition are they in? Moth bites, defects, smells, spots, pliability of sweatbands, etc.?

Randooch,
1. I've posted many new pics which better depict the condition.
2. Look closely at the underside of the Knox's brim. There is a small smear of something that looks like milk or snot.
3. Look closely at the open road's brim under the bow. It has a moth bite.
4. All sweat bands are pliable. The Creighton's sweatband is wrinkly and the satin under the plastic is discolored.
5. The hats are not smelly.
6. Words are important...You don't "have to buy" anything

Marshall, The brim on the Knox looks like 1 7/8". I've posted pics of the hats with a tape measure on the brims. However, I am not going to break up the five-hat lot. Thanks for looking.

You undoubtedly chose to undersell them by not making the effort to sell them if not individually at least by lots of same head size. Whoever bought them will now be able to keep the one(s) he wants and sell the rest individually, possibly at a nice profit.

You got what you asked for, both in terms of money and in terms of facility (one job lot, gone!).

Yes I did. The seller got the price she wanted and I was able to sell the hats to another Okie (a member of this forum) so I did not have to ship them. I threw in the hat boxes so he's a happy camper too. Thanks again to the forum.

I wasn't in Ashford yet at the time, and the JSSI has now moved to Bedfordshire. Templer Barracks have been demolished and Repton Manor is being converted to nice modern offices...
