These were purchased from the maker himself. He lives just outside of Tokyo and makes the boots out of his workshop. An in-person meeting is required in order to purchase.

That would be a bad choice! These boots are made to be worn and give them a long life in your feet.

Beautiful boots. Wear 'em or worship 'em? Utilitarianism or commodity fetishism? I've been staring at them for the last five minutes and can't decide. What jacket would you pair them with?

I am showing them to some friends and then I will finally be wearing them hard. I think they will pair well with both of my Himel jackets and after they age, they should work with the new Freewheelers jacket too.

I think the hole is to hold the leather in place while hand lasting, I've got it on two pairs of mine. It always makes me laugh to be honest, how did we end up with a sign of quality being boots with a hole in, hahaha.

Received my Colchester 1892 High Top sneakers today. Great summer shoes, classical but still not your usual Converse sneakers. They feel way more comfortable, mostly due to the built-in arch and cushioned insole. I don't know about their claim of being "the world's first sneakers", and to be honnest, I don't care about, but I find them really great for the price tag! Craftsmanship seems to be top-notch, we'll see how they'll endure the test of time.

After wearing nothing but leather shoes/boots for 15 years i think i might have to get a pair of these!
Going to try some on tomorrow, i just happen to have a gig next door to the only store that stocks them in London!

I like the shoes but I’m more interested in the pants actually I’m looking for some nice olive hbt trousers and yours seem so. What brand are they?

Those are indeed nice looking sneakers. I bought mine on Rakuten on sale a while ago and they are still in the box. Unfortunately, the Japanese do not stock large sizes or you guys can still get them at a discount. I think they are made in China. The Japanese no longer sell them but it seems someone else bought on to the design.

They may not be very durable because I have seen a brand new pair on display with broken hardware. I'd suggest Novesta, INN_STANT and Komrads all from Slovakia if someone is looking for durable, affordable canvas sneakers.

@Mich486 @dudewuttheheck Thanks folks! Those are ATF P41 trousers. They're out of stock and not planning to do more because of a new USMC policy... I suggest checking with WW2Impressions, they are not cheap, but are the best out there!

Well, i just got myself a pair of the burnt grass ones, and i like them a lot.
They are very comfortable, seem well made, and with the current heat they are just what i needed.

You're welcome! With the scorching heat we've been encountering for the last month and a half, they are really comfortable to wear. As I said, let's see how they'll hold up!

Honestly i can't tell...
I have worn nothing but leather shoes in the past 15 years, so to me they feel thin and flimsy!
But they look well made, the sole is bonded to the fabric rather than glued, all the stitching is nice an neat, they look like a luxury version of the Converse All Star really.
Saying that, i have no idea how they will wear if you were to wear them daily for a long time! But i would expect them to last at least as well as Converse.

In another price bucket, there is Buzz Rickson with their version of these. Probably the best out there but too many fit concern to drop almost £200.

I wouldn't say that... As I said, WW2 Impressions's P-41 are widely believed to be the best out there and are praised by many, many reenactors. And they're "only" 120USD a piece:

My ATF may not be the best there is, but craftsmanship is really great, and at 59USD, I'm not feeling ripped at all.
