Footwear to go with our jackets

I do use my Alden cap toe boots often. Those are my to go shoes when suit or jacket!

Well I can't see anything technical about it, but I agree that you can wear almost anything. Almost! Just because it's a leather jacket and not a made to measure suit doesn't mean that the standards of the rest of the ensemble have to fall: Two tone spectator shoes? You're kidding? Am I laughing?

Found out that there are stockists carrying the Viberg boots in London now, so will go check these.
Thinking also than an easy/convenient option could be a sturdy/work boot version of a Chelsea boot.

Btw, since we're talking footwear, what do you guys use as socks?

I guess you travel with your lace shoes and not engineers? Do you need a bootjack to remove your boots or they are soft enough by now?

I have a pair of Wesco and 2 pairs of Viberg. I'd say Viberg is still heavy but not as hardcore as Wesco. Wesco's quality IMO is not superior to Viberg.

Fair Isle socks by Rocket Originals.The website gives just a limited selection of colours, unless they are listed elsewhere. We know the company proprietors and meet up with them at many festivals around the country.

LOL. It is. When there's a massive amount of snow on the ground (which is sadly rare these days) I do have some shit kickers boots.

Despite what I said above about Frye, I keep finding myself going back and looking at their John Addison boots in black. They're usually in the $450 range, but every now and then I see them at about $325. Very tempting.

I tried a pair of redwing iron rangers, I loved the look but felt like I was denting the earth every time I took a step. I do like chukka boots or desert boots....but they feel more like shoes.
