My old one fits/looks fine and has similar measurements so I should make some pictures of it worn on the weekend .

And here is a another stolen picture of a aero I think and I don't see that much difference in the sleeves .
I did not want skin right cafe racer sleeves . Vintage cut with generous sleeves just like some of Himmels herons

That's my Hooch jacket! Aero did a great job on it.

But about the shoulder angle/sleeve going into torso (athletic vs slim), I've recently found that it's easiest to see it from the back, like this:

IMG_7221.JPG

The blue one on the left will fit like your first brown A1, and the black one on the right is what I assume you want on your second black A1, two very different types of fits, even though the numbers are similar, very different panels,

blue one fit (like your brown one, I call this athletic type)

black one fit (I assume this is what you want for your black A1 too, I call this slim long type)
JL Type 3 Large closed.JPG

Both of these are Johnson's own patterns, and they're my go to now. But they're also more money than 5*.

Shawn has the capability to make anything for you for less money, but getting the right message across (clear understanding on both sides) seems to be the most difficult issue in this thread. I actually had one of Shawn's slim long trucker but I replaced it with the Johnson one for two reasons, I messed up on the mods (because I didn't know better, it was only after experiencing Johnson's two different patterns I learned there are different ways of doing this), and the leather is not in the same level (price wasn't either).

I was not able to crack the 5* code so to speak, but I do think it's possible, I just don't know how. Good luck!

I just applied the snow seal and I am letting it cool down.I don't know if I want to finish it today.

I just laid it down like himmel does in his listings and now it looks normal .

I think we are just to OCD/ in my case ADHD that we panic way to quickly

I’m surprised to hear that. To me the difference is not hard to see at all…

I think we can agree on these facts:

Most Aeros are much better than most 5*
Some 5* are better than some Aeros.
Some 5* can reasonably be confused for an Aero, even by very knowledgeable people.

I’m still not likely to get another 5* any time soon. But all of the above statements can be true at the same time. Showing an example of a great aero is a false comparison. Not all Aeros look that good. Obviously the best Aeros are better than any 5*.

Yes

No, never have seen a single example of this TBH

Not with quality images but low res from a distance I suppose.

I abbreviated this^ because it's a better plan:p

I used that jacket b/c it appears to be the source material for your 5 Star, which is a valid comparison. If Regius thought your 5 Star was an Aero, then he knows less about leather jackets than he's being given credit for. This isn't a slam on your jacket, but to me and I'm sure most others with experience with Aero, this is easy to see. Perhaps Regius has not owned an Aero.

I posted an aero and a
Aero v. 5*

Now that I own an aero I can post this comparison. This is a Dustbowl and it has a very trim fit, just like the 5*. The Vicenza hh is lightweight has a gorgeous grain throughout. View attachment 592927 View attachment 592928

Now this one even after heavy wear is still perfect. The whole jacket got the Indiana Jones treatment from soaking through rain .UV radiation in the Egyptian sun and dust from the valley of the Kings .Still no signs of damage

Probably a mix of delusion mixed with rage lol.

I am just disappointed in them because they did deliver me (to me) acceptable quality before.

I see these posts more as a warning for others so they can see why people cheered for them 200 pages ago and why they moved on by now...
