What’s the average wait time for a custom patterned jacket? Anyone have to wait over a week?
with me it takes longer and longer. probably my wishes are too extravagant and then it takes longer to create the pattern. lol
I think only standard jackets, for which no extra pattern has to be made, really works fast.

I submitted my final design, and payment, on Jan 13th. Shawn told me on Thursday the pattern will be complete this coming week, and the jacket shortly thereafter. He said "normal" patterns take 2-3 days to create. "Special" patterns like mine are 4-7 days. So if all works out accordingly I'd say approx 3 weeks before jacket arrives for a custom based on my experience.

Has anyone looked into shipping a jacket to Five Star?
Wondering whether it would be cost prohibitive to ship a heavy leather from the US.

That looks great, I should also get my black deerskin trucker this week. Not too sure about the design I picked but oh well lol

mine still take time for some reason. Wait for the pictures every day. Shawn probably has too much to do for TFL ;) Or my leather doesn't exist right now. lol

It’s your fault I’m getting the Trucker, you & those lovely photos you posted...you should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself....

Yes. Look up thread a few pages. @Hh121 did it and the result was excellent. Actually, he shipped the leather from which the 5* was made.
Others have shipped jackets to 5* to be copied.

I am familiar with your first example, but I believe that cost hundreds of dollars to ship? Still significant comparative savings of course. My understanding is that a length of leather was sent, not a jacket, I imagine that was more expensive. I agree that the result is excellent. I’m not confident in my ability to design a good fitting jacket on the first round! So am looking into where I can keep costs down anticipating that I’ll have to spec a second.
I haven’t seen the examples of other users sending in jackets, maybe I missed them. Thanks for your help.

Your trucker looks great, it's so much better looking that mine. Maybe I should have told them to copy your jackets design but change the measurements lol
I just sent them photos of what it should look like but I don't think the design I sent transferred well to the leather. It still looks like the stock 5* trucker with minimal changes. Dunno but feels a little too busy on the front and the back design seems a little too square

A few differences but a very nice smart looking jacket you’ve got there. Ordered the buttons going on mine from Etsy ages ago, Shawn’s built the jacket & I bet I’ll have received it before the Etsy seller has managed to put the buttons in an envelope :)

Thanks, I'm sure it will be nice to wear and measurements seem spot on as well so it should fit okay. Looks like the sleeves on mine are made from 2 panels so that might make it more comfy but the seam placement is having me a little worried though. I hope you get it sometime soon, the black donut buttons i ordered should be delivered today/tomorrow.

Anyone ever just ordered stock from 5*? I’m looking at the trucker with the brown collar. I’ve never owned a leather trucker nor suede. I figure the entry price is perfect to try out. If I don’t like it, it’s basically nothing and I return it. I’m borderline fitting in their stock size. If I love it, I’ll send it back and see if it can be tweaked if not go the custom route from them. I know almost everyone has been happy if not downright thrilled with their custom results. Just curious if Shawn’s stock items come with as much love and care?

Maybe I missed it in the thread but is that deerskin? I don't see anything wrong with that design...the only thing I would have changed, if it was for me, is contrasting thread, which of course is a personal choice. It looks great!
Shawn needs a professional photographer however. I am nervous waiting to evaluate my jacket pics when he sends them.

Yes, black deerskin. Thank you. It will be an all black jacket with black zipper & button so I didn't go for contrast stitching.

That would help and also To take the photos outside
