Forgot to post this here, but I received my D-1 about 3 weeks ago. It's been my go to jacket since then, perfect for the actual weather. Shawn did a helluva job, fit is bang on what I requested. I couldn't be happier with a jacket!

I must say, this looks really really good. Perfect fit. Congrats. Standard sizing or full custom?

If the saps are solid that's great. Do we know who made them? Is there a robust YKK equivalent for snaps?

Fit is a strange thing. I agree it is about being specific with what you like - but some things are micro to the point of absurdity. But it's all down to what you can stand, isn't it? I personally like longer, looser jackets and find some of the trim, short jackets on the forum ugly. But I don't have to wear them. There are also a small number jackets that are long and baggy and simply don't suit the wearer's build. I stay quiet there too.:D

The standard for snaps seem to be DOT branded ones.
I just had a snap fail on my Lee Storm rider, the male part just broke and fell off when i reached forward.
Thankfully the remaining female part on the sleeve is compatible with dot snpas, so i can just replace the male part and keep the Lee branded snap on the female side.

That's really nice! Great fit too, like @Marc mndt i wonder if it is full custom?
Nice to see a fellow Belgian around here.

Looks amazing. Congrats.

Does not seem the updated fleece, right?

10mm or 20mm thick?

@Marc mndt this is a size 40 (where I usually wear a size 42), with customs body and sleeve length! Indeed, not sure I could have gone for a better fit. Maybe shorter in the body, but then it wouldn't have covered my back enough when not wearing high waisted trousers.

@Carlos840 , are you originally from Belgium?

@Berto indeed, I choose the older fleece as I prefered the fluffy look, in 10mm. I was offered the option of the new one, but I really loved the older fleece and the broken grain on the leather side.

Great fit! The extra length works really well. I think it’s rare to see a standard size 5* that looks this good. How much extra did you pay for adding length to it?

Thanks, I have crystal clear that I have to order a sheepskin jacket to 5*.

I'm looking forward B-6 project. Let's wait, it's still in the woods.

5* shearlings are looking really good now..if the UK was colder I’d order up a B-3. It’s cold enough for one at the moment but we only get a few weeks a year in the South of what I’d call cold weather. I’ve got a D-1 already and like the B-6 the thinner shearling makes it more wearable for me.

What temperature do you think is the upper limit to wear a D1-B6 jacket comfortably?

In the Southern part of the UK, I can wear my D-1 from early Fall to late Spring potentially, with only a T shirt some days, sweater and T others & then occasionally it’s just too warm to wear. It is a very useful part of my wardrobe though. I had an Irvin type but sold that because I found it too hot for more than a few days in the year.

Dunno about the upper limit, but it's been between 0°C and 2°C today, humid with quite a bit of wind and I was all warm and toasty outside with my D-1, simple t-shirt and Pike Brothers flannel shirt underneath. When the winds gets too much, popping the collar up and closing it helps quite a bit too.

Very cool vest, what’s the fit like?
A little tighter than expected. I underestimated the thickness a bit. But that will settle after a while anyway. Great for my taste, but I also like it rather tight.

Really beautiful but that shearling seems the old one ¿?

No, that's the new shealing. This is a little more curly and the outside is slightly shinier.

Shawn should get a thinner shearling (5-6 mm) to address CR jackets. I think he would be very successful.
