Agreed but the buckle does work and I wasn’t retuning the jacket over it. I guess I could ask him to send me replacement buckles but I haven’t and it’s not noticeable when wearing. Here are some fit picks featuring TFL trademark “dialed in” fit as suggested by Ton and others. Thanks guys, I always wore my jackets baggy and I’m a 50L or xxl, so how is the fit?

This is far, far better a fit than the type III you ordered. Looks well tailored and fits perfectly!

I agree with Ton and VWNerd---this is a much better fit than your first dive in. Its clear that with more experience, you guys all seem to do better and better when ordering these custom jackets. Ton and Mr. Proper among a few others seemed to nail their first one too which is great and with all the groundwork you guys are laying and sharing with the rest of us, I'm hopeful I can do ok on a first run when I finally get it together.

BY THE WAY---Handymike is sending me the "Community Leather Sample Pack" soon. I should not have it for very long as I have more or less already decided on Premium Seal Goat. I am in Southern California and would like to pass it on to the next interested party without undue delay to keep it moving and share with the FL brothers. It would be cool to send to someone relatively close but I'll send it anywhere. PLEASE HIT ME UP HERE IN THIS THREAD AND LET ME KNOW WHO WANTS IT NEXT --- NO PMs---its better in this thread so we can see who's in line and who's got the samples etc. I'll likely get it sent back out Christmas Week;);););)

Nice drawing! I think the 28' back length will cover the hips but the jacket in your drawing stops at the waist?

This makes no sens to me.

So he is saying that people who are expecting "Made in USA" would rather not have an address of provenance rather than an address that isn't American. Nonsens...
And to then say "there is a message stating that if you need any other info, please contact us by email" is also pretty nonsensical, people don't want an address to order by mail, they want an address to figure out where the jacket is made.

Same as always, there's a lot of stuff in that post that's waltzing around the truth. They don't wanna say where the jackets are made, we are to believe that the name they used isn't from the movie, etc.

If they'd been honest from the start and let their jackets do all the talking, like Thedi does, nobody would care & they wouldn't need to bs all the time.

Yup! I mean look at their site they do have some awesome designs. Everyone I know here who has one says they are just as good as any maker. So no matter who owns it and where they are made ...they make a damn fine product. So let your product do the talking. I won’t say everyone because some people do have reservations or bias about ownership and where things are made(some of it quite justified) but 90% of people just don’t care. They would say damn look at that jacket that’s nice as hell. But the way they’ve advertised and all the temper tantrums have just sullied them for a lot of people.

That is if they are really based in Greece like they claim which seems doubtful

Maybe they have 99% of a jacket produced in Pakistan. Then have it shipped to Greece where they add a few small details and call it made in Greece. Perfectly legal according to European legislation.

That's what Meermin Shoes does for example. The shoes are made in China and subsequently sent to corsica to be hand dyed. They are sold as 'made in spain'

Wasn't it yourself who had something similar made before by Wested? They seem to be in a similar ballpark to Five Star, though they don't as directly advertise the 'custom' side. I always felt that if Wested got somebody really creative in in the design department they could do some interesting stuff, though they may well be happy with their current level of business of course!

Looked into this a few months ago when it last came up around the time AVI were briefly 'a thing'; though the EU is looking into it, there's currently no legislation that either requires a country of origin label or defines what that implies. It is, of course, a tricky business given that almost nobody nowadays produces everything within a single country. My Wrangler 13MWZs are American denim woven from American cotton, with a Chinese (presumably - YKK) zip, all sewn up in Mexico... If memory serves, US law has a standard for "made in USA" which requires a certain level of final finishing, fit and assembly to be in US territory, which isn't a bad starting point. Perhaps it could go even further and be like food labelling - tell us where the ingredients came from and where they were 'cooked'? :D

I agree, though, it is desirable to know these things in the modern world. We do live in a global economy where "offshoring" is inevitable (hell, I've even bought an expensive import guitar that was made in the USA before now!), but I personally like to have as much information before I buy as possible.

I think that the Norwegian smoked salmon is shipped somewhere else for processing than shipped back?

I somehow thought the European union has legislation in place regarding this matter but you're right, they don't.

I don't understand your impute? Her waist is at 18" down the back from the collar. and she wants it to flare out at the hips. Dose it work now? Please advise...
