No, unfortunately not. But with goatskin you can not expect that.
The seal colored has worn minimally in some places and the light brown comes through.
Black is dyed through and I only notice that the leather becomes a little softer in some places.
Russet I can not recommend anyway, because at least mine is too much topcoat on it. The also wears off at best times.

My recommendation is to specify the jacket measurements exactly. The more accurate, the lower the risk that it will not fit.
However, I have never bought a jacket according to standard sizes. But think that the collar and sleeves are often too wide at the standard.

Horse/Steer? How does it compare with the usual CXL?

Your Horween Veg HH is thicker than you'd think. Surprisingly it doesn't weigh a lot (in actual pounds/kilos) so it can be misleading about the thickness. Mine is also just 5.4 lbs but the thickness is there, at least 4.5oz, not 3.25oz.

Also the sleeves will need break in. Right now your 5Star is brand new so it looks like that but after broken in it will feel ok. I cheated and used mink oil. This leather is thick but gets soft and wearable after broken in.

It doesnt has wax content so it weigh less and wont get stiff when cold. Left is cxl natural horse right is veg horse

Maybe a little too much in the elbows? I dunno. My sleeves were so crazy large and shapeless. These look better proportioned, at least to me. Dena is sending mine back today. Hopefully the pant legs have been properly reduced.

I’ve been hesitant to post any jacket pics following the Dutch Jacket Slayer postings but I do want to give props to 5 Star with the one they made for me. My contact was all via email and they were always prompt to respond and stay in touch thru the whole process.
They’re spot on in detail and measurements. Can find no flaw in their workmanship.
This was based off their Civilian Windbreaker aka Sunset with front pocket change and button up instead of zip.

Crystal Brown Goat which I thought was the least top coated but was wrong.

Not very good lighting for fit pics in my wife’s vanity mirror.

My only non vintage leather, pretty stiff and shiny. May toss it in irrigation ditch then drag it thru an alfalfa field to speed up the wear process, patina, soften it up.
Again Shawn couldn’t have been more gracious and accomadating. Have absolutely no complaints on performance. I gave pretty detailed measurements. Kinda wished I would’ve stayed with original patch pocket and 2nd zipped pocket on the left side instead of trying to be so symmetrical and pull up horse but live and learn.

Wow nevermind the Dutch slayer postings lol, this is awesome. I already wondered what project you used those buttons for. I love those bound button holes.

If you told me this jacket was made by GW I would not have believed you. This is two tiers above GW, in terms of both fit and execution.

Wow, I'm seriously impressed. How did your nail the fit on your first go, did you use a mockup? Anyway, congrats on this amazing looking jacket.
