Plus, you don't have to wait long.My jacket from the rising star will have two sets of “patch” pockets. Wait and see how that turns out first. It’s a different style but might give you a window as to how to tweak your pattern.

yeah, I'm trying to picture what it looks like on. Unfortunately no model photo on Thurston Bros site. But was thinking it's a little bit A1, little bit Cossack, little bit G1. I also thought about the zipper sleeves for contrast. Not completely sold on it. Generally the cossack seems baggy in the gut, but I guess I can mess with that too.
I want to try their racer next I think. I've only seen one picture of it with model wearing and it's a little boxy/baggy. I'm thinking I can address with some measurement adjustments and maybe give him some photos of a Buco back or something along those lines. Going to use the one coming next week as the guide for sleeve width measurements up my whole arm. I'm asking him for leather samples as well. If the aniline natural or cognac color is the right shade, or at least I can futz with it by adding some wax/oil to darken some, I think I'll go for that. I really want a natural CXL and get that long term ageing, but I may give it a shot as an experiment at that price point.
good find. TY. If I only had green pants like that with matching bag, wow, the chances of that. Count the number of pockets in the picture. Guy can carry the keys, wallets and phones of a basketball line up.
nice fit, cool dual zip, nice collar and cuff strap.
Yes, that works for me, although it would be longer than a Cossack (to accommodate the pockets). I’ve seen similar jacket styles (generally buttoned, but the zip fits too).just to keep playing the telephone game here. I want to take the cossack and change the hand warmers for something like this. So now that we've frankensteined it into existence (sleeves, zipper, button, pockets), I think we're good:
I took a few more pictures of the 5* trucker with the buttons replaced.

His made to measure leather Trucker has a spot on fitI hope Shawn can duplicate those numbers, or get pretty close. To me this jacket has to be tight fit, like a typical trucker.
Are these replacememt buttons for a trucker jacket ? They look niceHardware upgrade definitely made this jacket better. Can't wait to do mine.

Received my jacket early today (Oct 5 original delivery date). I took 2quick pictures in the office. My initial impressions: goatskin looks, feels, and smells great; nice heft but still very light; stitching looks clean except around the button holes; and overall fit is pretty good and should get better once the shoulders settle. With the benefit of hindsight, I would ask for a 1" reduction in the shoulder, 1" reduction in the chest, and higher armholes, but that's on me since I supplied measurements. Overall, I'm pleased and already scheming on what to get next. Will take and upload add'l pics later. View attachment 266413

did this come with the standard 5* buttons on the leather trucker? Did any fall off , or separate ? My bottom button did and it isn’t tight down there , maybe a defective button . Anyway what type of replacement buttons did you use and are they easy to install? The jacket looks great
How to attach the 2 parts? So do you hit with a small hammer when in place ?No, but they weren't firm/tight. as if they were made for thicker material. And I just like others more.
The new one are easy to install. I think you can take any button with max. 17mm diameter.
Thanks. 1930 Vintage Cossack model in seal brown goatskin. I emailed Shawn my interest with measurements taken from a jacket I own. He had me order on the website and then email him the order number. Bada bing bada boom.Nice! I assume this is their standard Cossack model? What leather did you go for, and what did you do for sizing? Just been looking at the measurements... Surely I can't be an XS!!
