This is a really cool little story actually. First time I've seen someone post a VIDEO to an ebay listing.

I saw this thing and was like "wow, the patches are kind of busy but I think collectors like them with the original patches."

Seller is a USN vet and is selling his own personal G-1 that he sewed patches on since his service started in the 1990s. He collects them and has a bunch already.

Apparently he was a photographer for the navy which is kind of cool. He has a one-minute video explaining his decision of why he's selling it, and he also has a 1977 corvette for sale for 2 g's, also with a video. Seems like a really nice guy!

nice old car coat with lightning zips. Looks to be roughly size 46 by modern standards (even tho the seller lists it as medium). I would nab this if the sleeves were 2-3 inches longer

The intense Lost Worlds discussion on another thread left me jonesing for a LW A-2. Lo and behold this Japanese eBayer had one in my size (38) for $300. I bought it, but here is another one in a smaller size (36) for $350 (note, it will eventually need a cuff replacement).

After I liked the items, the seller did send offers - this one was marked down to 320.

This appears to be an actual seller (not a proxy) and has listed a number of quality A-2s and other interesting clothing items, for what look to be okay prices.

I think you are right, the one I posted is a proxy store. The Mercari posting is for “#funVintageStore” and that is most of the items that the eBay seller I posted offers (the photos are watermarked). The eBay seller just basically stole this Mercari store - unbelievable!

I’m not buying anything else from Japan on eBay… too much uncertainty.

I have an Ironheart jacket made by 4 speed. I think the quality is good, but I'm not the type to agonize over stitch count and all that other stuff.
