So i bid and won this auction at $250. The seller never responded with a total including shipping, then cancelled due to lack of payment.

Has anyone else had this happen via ebay?
What a shitty move. Is there anything you can do about that? File a complaint to eBay customer support?
Thanks for the advice. I've filed two complaints. One got a shipping quote but no total. The second i am waiting to hear back from.

Question for you, do you have emails requesting the seller send you the shipping charges? I noticed that that jacket had a bidder with only a feedback of "4 transactions". I've been on the bay for 22 years I seen this happen before when sellers feel they did not receive enough money for the item! Only bid on auctions that fully disclose the shipping charges. By using this method, seller used this as a weasel clause to back out of the transaction. I would call eBay on the phone and talk to a representative.. Get a hold of eBay and have them look thru your e-mails as proof! Good luck!

Hi, yes and ebay are aware of the repeated requests for a total. Think you are probably right with regards to the seller thinking they did not receive enough money for the jacket or taking a higher offer after the bidding ended. The bad review from a buyer stating they received a fake item should of been a warning.

A learning experience.

That should not bother you that much I think. Seller did not steal your money, nor send you cheap stuff.
They just made you lose some time. The seller did not respond, but could as well have said the jacket wasn't available anymore, and cancelled this sale. I recently experienced a seller not shipping the item after receiving payment, and giving no info. I lost 6 weeks to get my money back, but it's over. That happens.

Looks like the starting bid was $100. I am leary of auctions that start so far under what a piece should bring, especially by a seller with relatively little selling history listed. They could be fishing to see what an item is worth and/or they did not do their homework and then got nervous seeing the item get bid up so much.

Just curious...did you have some correspondence with the seller before the sale? If not, something to consider for the future. Helps one to figure out where their head is at.
