Bates was my first thought too. They often had unlined jackets, too. The vents at the armpits are a bit more uncommon, but I have had some Bates jackets with those present as well. However, the back design doesn't match any Bates I've seen. Bates' jackets usually have either a straight line or a more gentle arc, like below.

Somebody copied somebody. Who was first, Maco or Bates? According to Bates website, the company did not start making racing leathers until late 1950s. Could it be that they copied Maco's patterns and made subtle modifications? Or was it the other way around?

Midwestern Sport Togs Size 42 Deerskin $100 OBO Neenah, Wisconsin is fairly close to Berlin, so this jacket may have never left the area after purchase. I think a jacket like this is a great way to expand one's wardrobe with leather and deerskin is so elegant, yet tough. Hint, hint, youngerns.

I bought the same jacket from Monitor a couple of years ago and the quality of the leather is outstanding. I also bought a European size 54 and it will fit someone with a 44-45 inch chest. Offers are accepted.
