That RMC Herkules is perfect but I cba with the struggle of ordering from a platform yet unknown to me from overseas. Someone should grab it though at that price. If it ends up not fitting, just pm me.

I just set up a buyee account and won my auction last night. Sounds like it takes a bit to get the ball rolling but I can let you know my experience. My only other experience importing from Japan was back when Global Rakuten was a thing and this seems far, far more straightforward than that. I would have to google translate emails and tons would get lost in translation. It seems like buyee the stuff ships to their warehouse (so they deal with all the Japanese side) and then contact you for international shipping and I persume their specialists speak English.

My wife's brother minored in Japanese so sometimes he'd help me on Global Rakuten. I was having trouble trying to communicate to Klax-On that I wanted them to punch a hole in the wallet to attach a wallet keeper. Oddly enough he recommended I just type out "walleto chaino hookah" (wallet chain hook) and that seemed to work. Felt like a make believe translation to me lol.

BIZARRO POSTING HERE:

I'm not a religious person but something tells me the Holy Grail is NOT a beat up crappy Brooks Cafe Racer. I can't picture Indiana Jones going through a death defying obstacle course of booby traps, meeting a centuries old Knight and being advised to "Choose Wisely" only to reach out and grab a Brooks beater off a dusty mantle. Cmon man!!! I don't think a day goes by that I DON'T see a Brooks Cafe Racer for sale on eBay. So advertising something like this as "Rare! Holy Grail..." is pretty tone def to the marketplace. All's fair in marketing I guess.........THIS is your lucky day as you can have a really beat up lower end Cafe Racer for the rock bottom price of $900.00!!?!?!?!?!:eek::eek::eek:

$100 BIN Montgomery Ward, size 36.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Mo...337660?hash=item3ff42a12bc:g:-YkAAOSwBLxfaSUa

This looks pretty cool. I feel like I should know more about Montgomery Ward, but my mind is drawing a blank right now. Leather looks very grainy, the collar seems to be a bit dirty.

To echo the sentiments of a few others, if you are going to buy a Montgomery Ward leather jacket, like Terry explained, the major department store jackets ALL started to go downhill pretty much at the same time. JCPenny jackets seemed to disappear or they became another labeled name. Hercules begat Fieldmaster that begat Oakbrook that begat Sears The Leather Shop. Pretty much, post Oakbrook, the Sears jackets really drop off in quality. Likewise, Montgomery Ward had Windward, then Brent, then when they got to the Montgomery Ward labeled jackets, there is that same drop off.

I have said before, I believe that with the disappearance of these once proud and successful American department stores, their clothing will increase in value. You can already see it happening. I would say that just because something is Sears or Wards doesn't mean its a quality vintage item. At one point, they all started selling lower quality stuff. Understanding the history and brand evolution is important in valuation of American department store leather jackets and garments in general. I don't generally touch the MW or Sears Leather Shop items. I have seen some Sears The Leather Shop CRs that are interesting and I've been tempted because they are generally lower priced jackets, but never mistake a Sears The Leather Shop for a Hercules or even an Oakbrook for that matter. MW labeled jackets are not on the same level as Brents or especially Windwards.

Real McCoy x Harley size 40 currently at 130$ with 17 hours left on the auction

thanks for this. I got really close to buying. The auction ended too early in the morning for me to raise the bid. I had set a limit at 33k yen roughly $320. Looks like it sold for 36k yen or $350, so with shipping would have been close to $450 all in.

The patina on it is ridiculous. I tried to justify going higher because that's a standalone belt and the collar is probably worth $100 alone. But I got a closet full of jackets that are dying to get worn. Plus the "40" scared me, although if the measurements were accurate would have fit me like the Vanson c2 I just got, which is almost on the wrong side of tight LOL, but not quite.

It did mess me up though because I was tracking an older model Schott 618 that had talon zips, probably from the 80s, that was also getting some nice patina (kind of Monitor's Per 70-esque). Both auctions ended around same time and I didn't want to end up buying both LOL, so I just bid on the HD one. But that Schott I could have grabbed for probably $250. Oh well, not like I don't have anything to wear.

I'm keeping an eye out myself, but for users who search on buyee or other proxy sites: If anyone comes across an Indian / Sugarcane leather shirt in size 38, I'd love to see it. Something like this or this. Those are size 36 and I could probably squeeze into them, but I want to be able to layer with the shirt over other things.

Awesome, I think that first one will work. I was searching that exact phrase as well, but I was doing it on the proxy sites. Should have just gone right to the source!
