@ ton what you think of this not a Hercules, yet looks nicer to my eye. I may bite myself if the Star Glove escapes me this afternoon
I like that one quite a bit! Looks like it’s been altered at the hem? I think that’s actually a Wards. I’ve only seen that pocket config on the early Wards M/C jackets.

Yep, Wards. And that pocket configuration is one of my favorites. Tempting, but I am always concerned that jackets received from this seller will show up looking like chewed-up bubble gum.

LOL. Yeah. Often they look like they’ve been stored in vacuum sealed bags. I would pay $225 for that jacket. Not a penny more.

He’s also got this one. Everyday I wake up, look at it, bin finger quivering, realize I can’t wear a 23.5” back length, try to rationalize, give up, repeat the next day.

The dreaded super short back length. To me, its the most critical measurement. If a seller seems uneducated as to proper lay flat measurements, I can let them slide here and there. But I've learned--NEVER on the back length. I just wear my jeans at a modern fit/lower cut level and don't prefer to tuck in my shirt if I don't have to. The short back length is a killer for me more often than not. On vintage jackets, sometimes I'll just ask for a rear length measurement and that tells most of the story for me right there.

But I do the same thing you are describing LOL.......I recognized that pattern you mention (the symptoms of leather jacket addiction syndrome:eek:) -- rationalize the stated short back length size.....try on and measure jackets I have to compare......try to convince myself the seller is off by an inch or two in my favor........try on jackets again......decide to bid.........give up. Wash Rinse Repeat.....;)

If it fits. Does it seem a little tight in the chest and short in the sleeve for a 44? I've never had a Langlitz on, do they somehow fit different?

Chest 22.5” (underarm to underarm)
Shoulder 20” (seam to seam)
Back length 28” (collar seam all the way down)
Sleeve 25” (top shoulder seam to end of cuff)

Mine is a 43XL, XL meaning extra length, i think it's a stock 43 with 1" extra in the arms.
You can see fit pics there, 3 post of the page ( i am 6'2, 185lb)
The chest measurement might look small, but with the underarm gussets an the action back you still get gret forward reach.

79 watches and the star glove is coming to Redwood City CA to hang next to its cross zip cousin $510 plus sales tax and shipping I feel like I scored. Review and fit pictures are coming.
I offered $500 to Dinnermen the day the jacket was listed, he declined like I knew he would and I respect him for letting the auction run.

I did expect it to go higher. Given the state of the economy, though, perhaps it is not so surprising. $510 is a good deal if there's no dry rot.

Congrats!! Awesome price. I totally forgot about the auction, busy prepping for the incoming storm. You were ready to fork over much more, I’m glad you didn’t have to.
