Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I am not a big fan of Schott. However, one of the most memorable jackets in my youth was a Schoot a-2/g1 flight jacket from them. It was a very popular model back in the day. I used to call it the bear. I replaced the fake fabrics on the collar and lining with these cool curly lamb. Those were the days. Now if I can get my hands on this one:

I have a d pocket with this label. The horse reminds me of the Korean horse seen in the Gibson & Barnes flight jackets. The hide is smooth and a little too shiny. More elegant look. In this jacket that just sold, the hide looks thicker and with more grain than mine. Schott 611H in size 44. It fits very similar to my Vansons Model E in the same size. View attachment 506422

Oh man if Schott copied Vansons sizing in the same way they copied the pattern (689 is a derivative of the 9D and Enfield) I might have come up! My 9D 40” was a solid fit.

Pretty much t shirt only but this is fit in a far better hide than Vansons current crater faced comp weight….I’d be good with that. We’ll see. Price seems too good to be true, so I’m not holding my breath until it’s delivered.
