I bought this one. I'm a newbie and probably just mashing buttons, but I liked the look of it and these few responses sold me. I also couldnt find a single other Siegel horsehide online that looked as old as it, so we'll see. From the pictures how would you rate this one? Fair or worse? Any guesses as to the age of it? I asked the AI about it and they said that the boxier cuts of the jacket are more likely 1950s, and a more slim cut would be indicative of 1960s.Yes, this is very rarely seen. Once every year or two, I'd say. I have one, nice, firm horsehide. Broken zipper is a concern, but they are broken on most of them. I replaced mine with a #10 Talon. I'd recommend this jacket without reservations.
It is from the 50s. Please post some better pics when you get it, the ones on Mercari were not great. But the leather looked to be in good shape. For a newbie (hell, for anybody) you did very well starting out with a HH Spiegel. You gonna need a zipper, @photo2u can help you there.I bought this one. Any input helps. Thanks
I had this jacket in size 42 Mine was in a simple horse just like the a-2. However, mine had a belt and a much simpler back. Love those stitching. Nice jacket. My nephew rocks that thing often. Definitely, a one of a kind piece for me.
That one has been on Etsy for an eternity. I’d have bought it long ago but the sleeves are short.Beautiful 40s Aviator 42/44 (says reserved in the title, did someone here get it?) - $450

Mine is in that Buffalo. It was new to me back 20 years ago. I liked the way it drapes and is thick. These jackets are made for the "biker" crowds. Good quality but not top of the line. I will describe mine in par with other brands such as River Fox, TRD or Kerr. Some of the CC gear is water Buffalo. Not knocking it, I don’t mind it, but putting it out there.
A water buffalo CZ just sold a few days ago for $99 on the 'Bay. I think people just didn't know what that leather is like.Mine is in that Buffalo. It was new to me back 20 years ago. Sold! I can't believe it lasted that long! Not my size, or I'd have leaped.
Yeah. I bought it. Not my size either but I’ll post it here when it arrives. I don’t need another black jacket but at that price should be easy to pass along at the same price point.Sold! I can't believe it lasted that long! Not my size, or I'd have leaped.

The sleeves are short in this one. That is too bad. Nice jacket.Beautiful 40s Aviator 42/44 (says reserved in the title, did someone here get it?) - $450

I have a d pocket with this label. The horse reminds me of the Korean horse seen in the Gibson & Barnes flight jackets. The hide is smooth and a little too shiny. More elegant look. In this jacket that just sold, the hide looks thicker and with more grain than mine. Schott 611H in size 44. It fits very similar to my Vansons Model E in the same size. View attachment 506422
