I picked up this Filson leather jacket off of Fleabay a couple of years back. I'll post a pic if anyone's interested. It say's it's made in China. It looks to be made of Vanson's first generation "Octagon" leather... the light tan stuff. I checked their webbie and of course they don't sell it anymore. I wouldn't ask but I get soooooo many compliments on this jacket I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with Filson leathers. It's in a standard halfbelt style. Any help would be appreciated.

There are a few threads around here where Filson is discussed. Some of our members are knowledgeable about the brand. Please post a pic so we can see what you have.

One of these Filson half-belts just sold on eBay. I was very tempted but the sleeve measurements were a bit short for me. Looked like a very nice jacket!

Thanks Thor ole bean... that's EXACTLY the jacket I have. (Did someone sneak in my house and take some pics?) It's pretty lightweight and comfortable, A little long on me though... about 2 inches below my belt line. Because of it's unusual color and 'action back" I get a lot of compliments on it. But it's clearly a fashion jacket certainly not Filson's target demographic. Wonder why they had em made in the first place....

They had them made because they were nice jackets snd would sell well. And they did sell well.
Never fails to amaze me when a company comes out with a product, it sells out, and they stop making that line. I've seen it over and over. What is it? Change of management? Lack of attention? I'd love to find one of those. Now I''ll be searching Ebay every couple of days looking for one in my size.
