I doubt very much it brought that actual price. It might be an entirely fictional sale item posted as sold to make prices site wide seem more reasonable even if they're jacked. Just guessing here, but $15K is foolishness, especially when Dinerman has such jackets lying about like dandelions for 1-5% of that price.
@scotrace makes a good analysis. I think he is exactly on point. Wish I had thought it through instead of my knee jerk reaction, "That is nuts."
That's no steal...it's a robbery!what a steal!
That's what you pay when you buy vintage curated by a shop. The prices are always much higher than what you pay when you buy it directly from someone. That site offers vintage Langlitz for laughable $$. Every single item they have listed is double what I'd value them at.
SPEW!!!!! Hell you could buy a damn good bike for that money!
Worf
PS... Bob, you owe me two cups of coffee!!!! One for this post and another for that "photographic forgery" you perpetrated against me earlier!
Agreed, but with one exception. Back in 2008, when we had a market crash, a small but exclusive retail shop, specialising in leather garments, was struggling to stay afloat. There was an £800 jacket to die for but I'm more of a suit and tie person. However, I tried it on. The proprietor said that he had done a deal with his supplier and that he could let me have it for half price. "Sorry," I said, "it's a lovely jacket, but I don't want to waste your time, it's still out of my price range." He wasn't giving up. "I have to admit," he said, "the way things are going, I'm just keen to liquidate as much as possible, make me an offer." There was £180 in my wallet. He took it.That's what you pay when you buy vintage curated by a shop. The prices are always much higher than what you pay when you buy it directly from someone.
