Yeah @jeo @Superfluous that was great! Which is why I'd love to do some sort of get together.

Looks like a FW Pasadena repro to me?

Wow! Great eye. That is exactly what it is. They made this back under the Bootleggers name and it has not been available in... forever. I sent Greg examples of the vintage version as well as the RMC version of it, but the FW/Bootleggers version was the one he thought was best.

@Marc mndt it is a gorgeous jacket and fits into my current love of cross zip sports jackets pretty well... I will absolutely not be going for the two tone though.

Haha, indeed, very difficult to find. Looking forward to see the result!

Alright, here she is. Route 66. Teacore. Copper lining (rust, gold, reddish brown, hard to capture the color, but it's definitely not "gold" and not so orange as shown in the pics). Brass hardware. No hand warmer pockets. Moved the wrist zips to the underside.

Overall the fit is pretty much there. The discussion about the neck lines continues though. We did go pretty tight on the shoulders, so don't know if a .25 or .5 would have made a difference alleviating some of the tension. Obviously in the below pics it's exaggerated because I'm lifting my arms holding the camera, but there is no doubt a crease line that runs from the neck down towards the arm pit area.

Probably could come in a .25 in a few spots on chest and torso to get a true second skin but I was looking for some breathing room on this one. Only been worn maybe 15 hours, so I'm guessing it'll settle some. But you can see the slight taper out from the waist which is what I was going for. And I forgot to take a pic with it unzipped, but the shape holds even unzipped. There's a lot of tension under the arms leading to say lower lat area. I think this is Greg's design and creates that pulling effect that keeps things looking sheik. It sort of feels and looks like the seam of the front and back connects more towards the back instead of the traditional dead center on the sides. It's not directly under the arm pit seam but more behind it. I think this pull tension creates a very sleek look and almost "hugging" effect. I like it, but for the OCD people, yeah, you're going to have those crease lines. I do think they'll soften some though and like I said, below pics are extreme since I'm holding my arm straight out and up.

The leather is beautifully grained, rigid, and much lighter than I expected. Was a good surprise because I can wear longer in the Los Angeles climate. But had I known, I may have quilted the lining or just gone for the more traditional red/black checker tweed. There's a few tiny dots of brown in some of the corners of the pockets and that's a glimpse of what's to come.

I'm totally happy and was a pleasure working with Greg. Might be a while before I order something else since I've lost my job recently, but no doubt I'd turn to him first if I had any sort of project in mind.

Few nit picky things I'd change if I had to do over again. I think the neck circumference is just a tad big for me. I probably would leave the wrist zippers on the front for a more showy pop. Main zipper for sure needs another 2 sizes bigger. Something I forgot to ask about. It'll do given the leather is lighter, but I do find myself having to slow down to make sure I don't break the thing (almost did the first time I was so excited to put it on). Since I took off the hand warmers, I should have added an inside pocket. Slightly thicker pull tabs.

Looks fantastic on you, congrats! FYI, The number 5 zipper is all Greg has in brass anyway, so you didn't have much choice (I asked).

Also...am I the only one who actually thinks creases in leather jackets should be present? For menswear tailoring, no I wouldn't want creases on a jacket. But for leather? I don't actually like when it's a "perfect" fit and it just sits flat everywhere. I like the extra folds and rolls and stuff. It adds to the character and visual interest IMO.

thanks. Good to know about the zipper. Yeah, I'm coming around to this too. Been checking out all these photos from the 60s and stuff and how they wore them. I think we're obsessing too much lately, real first world problems :D:D:D. Been cycling through all my jackets past few days, and all of them have some sort of line or crease or flare or whatever. Certain styles I think it works, others not so much. If it's an obvious issue like the jacket is way too small or too big, well yeah. But a crease line because you happen to be raising your arm to catch a cab (or take a selfie ) or something ain't the end of the world. And even after a few more wears, those lines are slowly mellowing out anyway.

Okay, are we seriously having a 5* thread on top while this absolute perfection of both workmanship & design is gettin' pushed toward the 2nd page? Not on my watch. Seriously, people, nothing against cheaper alternatives of course but I mean... For twice as much money, slightly more perhaps, you could have... Well, this!

Greg has lasers instead of eyes, he is a beast!

Yes, so glad I went with contrast stitching for Greg to help showcase his talent! Super clean and neat! What a guy

Jin, what model did you go with, or is it a surprise? ;)

Never mind, I just saw the finished product on Greg's IG story. Looks awesome!

That's it, man. I tell you I was super hyped this morning watching that montage!
It's a Frankenstein of a thing; a little bit of FW caboose front design with different hand warmer placement, the back design is an RMC disfarmer inspired, with moto sleeves. I think it looks the part with all the thanks to Gregs talent lol

Hmmmm oh yeah that will do it for me! If I only ever need one jacket then I'll gladly have this

That shade of brown has got to be up there with my favorite! The hide Greg used on your jacket is flawless!

I'll contribute one more :)

My favorite jacket. Soon also in brown.

Which brown will you have it with? The oil tanned or the full aniline? Can't wait to see version 2!

I might be next up? Last email I got from Greg said mine will go into production late January.

Yeeeees! Cross zip incoming soon!
