IMO the fit looks absolutely perfect! It's short but definitely not too short...it's always a matter of opinion that some people like it shorter and some shorter, some wider, some tighter. I really hope that you'll keep this beautiful jacket. Of course, I agree if you feel uncomfy wearing it then you should consider to sell it.

There's nothing wrong with it. It looks perfect.
You should wear it with pride.

It looks good to me, that’s the way I like my jackets to fit, halfway down the belt.

That is as short as I will go. Much rather it land there than it be too long.

Cool belt buckle too. Imo, it all works very well together.

It is probably also due to my low waist jeans and the fact that I'm 6'5" tall and short jackets then make the upper body appear disproportionately smaller.
But I also assume that it will improve a little if the jacket has broken in and has molded to my body.
In any case, I wore it extensively today in the corona isolation and I will do it for the next few days. It’s very comfortable

...there's a certain drought of elegant travel / evening wear leather jackets in the market.

There's lack of really nice leather jackets that fall between a blazer and work coat. A elegant, slim fitting car coat with discrete features would make an excellent addition and it would be great as fashionable yet functional travel jacket.

I second this opinion! Perhaps in goatskin or a chrome-tanned horsehide for water repellency?

@MrProper ..Thats a very cool jacket and its looks like a very trim and tight fit.. fortunately you have the body type to pull this off and actually pull it off very well!
There is certainly a place in your wardrobe for a jacket that fits like this.

Thank you. Yes, I like it trim and tight.
I calculated the dimensions of the jacket based on my body measurements, leather thickness etc. and Greg did a really good job.

Here are a few quick'n dirty fit pics.
Basically it's a great jacket. The leather is a dream and the workmanship is world class.
Unfortunately it is 2 cm shorter than I would have liked. This happened due to a misunderstanding in communication and the usual tolerances of 1/2 inch.
So something that I should have considered better with the dimensions.
It is only 2 cm, but it does make a difference visually.
With the rest there is absolutely nothing to complain about.
So I'm torn right now and don't know if I'm 100% happy.

I agree with the guys the jacket fits superbly on you and the length looks spot on but, not so much on a low rise jean.

A shrink to fit 501 would look awesome with the jacket!

The fit is great, and it's nice to have half of your belt visible, even if you prefer to wear your jeans low (i also do that) not an issue at all. Imho a proper fit and if it will be longer it will feel bad as sides of the jacket will scratch around front pocket area of the jeans, and it will pull the whole jacket up (happened with me with one "too long" jacket).

The jacket looks absolutely spot on, dead eye, nailed to the ground perfect. Jeans schmeans. Wear it with board shorts if you want. That jacket is 100% Proper

Aren’t 501 ever changing through their 150 years history? I mean the current version is a regular rise that sit above the hips. I don’t think you can say they are low waisted. However, they are not as high waisted as the 40s model and not as low as the 1970s one (if LVC repros are anything to go by).

If one wants a very high rise of course should look elsewhere.

I did recently purchase a NOS Vintage pair of Lee jeans, with a 13" rise. I like them so much I set up a search for them on eBay. I'm guessing these would be considered high-rise, or am I going about it all wrong?

IH 634 32/36 are 11.5" in the front, 14.5" in the back, i would call them medium rise.

An 11" front rise is still uncomfortably low to me, to the point of being unbearable to wear. It is true that they have varied throughout their run - I've always hated that about Levis. Most of their numbers seem to correspond with a fit, but 501s are never quite the same from year to year - I can't be doing with that.

The whole concept of "medium rise" is a con. A trouser waistband is either on the natural waist, or it's below your waist. Simple as.

I'm the sort, that buys n wears whatever I think feel looks good, feels comfy and not once have I ever considered the rise or much else.

I learn something new everyday and I thank the guys on board for educated me in selvedge denim and leather jacket.

To be honest I won't be going there anytime soon cos I made a similar mistake 2 yrs ago when I got curious about vintage shaving gear.

I told myself I want some vintage gear cos all this Gillette fusion crap was getting ridiculously expensive and my shaves were getting from bad to bleeding face bad. It's in the name of saving money I said.

I've 2 dozen vintage straight razors, 30 or so double edge razors and 1/2 a dozen or so whetstones

So handymike, I ain't going there NOOOOOO lol!

I fell down the same rabbit hole about six years ago but I got out pretty easy compared to you. I have a Feather stainless safety razor that I use to shave with my Feather blades.
I wish I could say the same about leather jackets, started hanging out around here almost 5 years ago and the rest is history...
