Haha, like I said, it's on the hype train. Many Chinese heritage wear enthusiasts consider FW Mulholland as their grail jacket. This season a new 2020FW Mulholland cost you almost 2700 USD retail price. So people would be happy to pay around 2,000 USD to get a good condition second hand one.

Japanese brands are usually with a relatively high resell value, we can further discuss this topic but I feel this is not the right thread to talk about this topic.

Yesterday I also studied Field Leathers' IG, and I find the cross zip with cossack collar looks interesting to me. But he said he is not 100% happy with the pattern so the product is not officially open for sale at this moment.

That's good to know, I'm sure they have their own version of fedora lounge over there and the enthusiast probably have the same wavelength as we do.

Greg said he will roll out new designs by December so wait until then, I also want a Cossack made by him.

I don’t know if there is a cult for the FW mulholland in certain circles but going by the prices jackets sell for here in the classifieds, Japanese or not, a good 30% of the value is knocked off just by opening the box.

So true, really hope there are a lot more loungers around my size but what a shame lol

Thought of an Idahoe (which was my original wish) in Badalassi leather.
But maybe I should wait to see what the three new models look like Lol

and thanks for the interview :)

Hi guys, definitely FL is not providing Brown Shinki full aniline.

since I’m interested on brown leather, there is the option of brown pigment Shinki or tobacco Badalassi.

what do you think?. I read pigment Shinki is more a plastic feeling. Am I wrong?

thanks in advance

Yes, I took one of the last hides of the brown full aniline. It is a pain trying to match panels, mine has different shades of darker/lighter browns so it is costly on the maker because he cannot use the full hide.

Based on the sample he sent me, I don't think the pigment finish is pasticky at all. The brown pigment finish repels water better than the full aniline brown. It smells the same and has the same thickness. It is much darker and it will most likely have teacore effect too as it is not dyed all the way through. It is quite nice to be honest.

I also have the tobacco badalassi, that is also lovely. It's lighter and easier to wear.

You have a Badalassi Aero right? Do you know the thickness of the hide? Greg sent me a Badalassi swatch which is 1.3 mm thickness which is definitely not lightweight. I think it's even heavier than his 1.3 mm full aniline Shinki.

Brown pigment Shinki on order now. The colour and weight was exactly what I was looking for and the grain looks beautiful.

Maybe next year I’ll order a CR from Greg in a thick tobacco Badalssi.

Hi Jin, ¿tobacco badalassi lighter and easier to wear than full aniline shinki or pygmented shinki?

I didn't know that Greg could get tobacco Badalassi. That may change some things now for me. I'm going to wait to see what his new designs are first before I finally take the plunge.
Yep, that's what made me pull the trigger on my second build. I'm a sucker for full aniline :)
He does offer Tobacco Badalassi but only on custom order for a small upcharge.

Up charge on top of website prices (I think is Shinki what is priced)?

Nope, upcharge on top of his previous Badalassi pricing. His base price used to be £850 for Badalassi, £1000 for Shinki.

For some reason almost everyone wanted Shinki and therefore he discontinued the Badalassi. Only available on custom order now. The Badalassi hides have to be split first because they come in at 1.5 - 1.7 mm thickness which is too thick to work with. So if you think 1.3 mm Badalassi is too sturdy you could also choose to have it skived down to 1mm. Greg is now asking £900 for Badalassi.

It was not disclosed to me how thick it is but definitely feels thinner than the shinki I have, also feels lighter to wear even though it is a size larger than my FL cafe racer. Go for that 1.3mm badalassi, I'm interested to see that project of yours.

The badalassi teal/green he offered before were £850. It might be more expensive for Greg to order smaller batches of Tobacco Badalassi hence the upcharge.
