Do folks actually work in these things? I have some Frye Arkansas lace-ups and Red Wing 877s that only see casual use.

These are Browning kangaroo boots in various degrees of "farm" use:

Bob, from what I've seen in the this thread, don't think many of them see the type work you're doing referring to. Hard to beat those Browning kangaroos. Hard to beat any kangaroo boot.

These are 875s, the 6" moc-toe, that I worked in for years. Amazingly comfortable, but that white crepe sole doesn't really go the distance. Had it replaced 3 times. Finally gave up on them and bought these iron rangers for myself last Christmas.

They're my daily drivers these days, unless the ditch I'm in is particularly $hitty, then I've got some Georgia mud dogs for the occasion.

I've been impressed with the durability of the cork sole on the iron rangers, but it ain't winning no awards for super comfortable, or super warm on a cold concrete slab, but I got some thick felt insoles in 'em that help out considerably.

The 875s were so comfortable that I ended up getting another pair, only this time the 877 8" model.

They're what I'm sporting today. I didn't plan on using them for work, having learnt my lesson about the soles, but they are my go-to stomping around in the woods boots, which I indulged in a little of earlier this afternoon.

Thanks, buddy! I've been wearing around, breaking them in and I absolutely love them!
Carolina makes a pretty solid product. I had a pair of their engineer boots that lasted me easily 10 years or better. Had them resoled twice before the leather on the side finally gave it up and split open. I have several friends who swear by the Carolina linesman boots, the really tall lace up model they make.

Hey, Sheepdog! Mind if I ask where you picked those IR's up? Also, how're you liking this freezing weather?
Hi there sir! Oh man, I'm surely loving this cold weather, as it gives me a chance to sport some of my leathers ;) I got these RW IR 8111's via the RW website. I should've just gotten them from the RW store, especially since there's one locally.

Carolinas were the only boots I wore back in my biking days. Not for walking, though. We used to get them for next to nothing at the Army/Navy stores. Those loggers look very nice.
Thank you! I actually find that these boots have great arch support, and that's actually the first time I've ever said that about a pair of footwear.
