^^^^I like 'em!!!!^^^^
Thank you..
Very nice, comfortable?
Very comfortable.. And it did not take long for them to get there.. Just a couple wears and the only thing that bothers me now is the shaft digging a little into my legs on the top. I imagine that will go away with a little more wear.

My boots before these were the Red Wing IRs and those were really hard to break in.. Took me a while to get comfortable in those.

Here is another picture from when I just got them. I did not like how bright the edges were on the boots, so I applied some AE brown edge dressing to bring down the contrast a little.

Starting the break in on a pair of RW Blacksmiths in Charcoal. A little stiff just like the Beckmans but a couple of wears and the spots that bother me go away and become very comfortable.

Thanks Pawineguy.
Those blacksmiths look pretty classic. I imagine they will age very nicely. What is the sole like on them?

Thanks dh, they are the black nitrile / cork sole. (seems much more nitrile than cork to me) I have now worn them once for an hour and can already tell that they are going to break in much quicker than Beckmans. They leather is softer (but not thinner) and the sole is more flexible. The leather, as you can see below, is perfectly named. As you flex the leather, this dark gray emerges making it look just like the color of a charcoal briquet. So far so good.

Nice!
That looks like the same sole that's on the iron ranger. All my previous red wings have had that white crepe wedge sole, which takes pretty much no break in to be comfortable. The downside to that is that they are shot after about a year. These took about a week or so to get comfortable, but they seem like they will last forever.

Exactly, same as IR sole. Hopefully it's durable, but I won't beat these up much so I'm expecting a lot of life out of the sole.

I went to the redwing store, and the soles on the new Walnut Beckmans are different than the regular ones. More expensive too. Anyone have experience? are they worth the cost?
