Fedoras & facial hair: are they mortal enemies?

Remember that next time you wear one of your Hawaiian shirts.

Then you would be wrong.

Let me know when you wear out your #0 trimmer guard & I'll buy you another one.

Seems to me the lightning rod isn't the beard, it's that chip on your shoulder.

You're cute when you pout like that, though.

You would be right about that now.

I'll pull back.

Just to be clear, Jack, my intent was not to impugn you by having a differing opinion. I've just known multiple folks (all male, fortunately) who have sported long beards for many years and haven't related negative experiences in any meaningful way. Not to say it doesn't happen; I've just never got the sense it was in any way common.

Could be just the differences in geographic culture, who we hang with, or any number of other factors.

Hell, at one time my hair was pretty long, at a time it was still looked at as "counter-culture" and, though a few folks made some remarks here and there - and I was fired from a job because I wouldn't cut it - the vast majority of people didn't seem to dwell on it.

The chicks loved it, though, and that was good enough for me!

Have a great Wednesday, Jack. [emoji41]

Hey Fruno:
I saw that 78’ post. You outta throw it up here.
Long hair is just a beard turned upside down. Ha

I cut my hair and grew my face.
That's a coincidence, I shaved my beard and grew an ego. Well a vain sense of appearance to be exact. For 35 years a full set of whiskers concealed a mole on my face. Then cometh the age, cometh the silver whiskers and vanity returns. I prefer the mole to Santa, so the beard came off. At about the same time I grew a penchant. A penchant for fedora hats, so that's where I am today. With hat, without whiskers.

I think it all depends on the guy, and the beard. I haven't posted much lately because I don't like how my hats look with my beard. But I'm far from epic beard status, which is when I think I can pull off hats again. Kudos to all the loungers who can rock the beards and hats
And from the few pics you have posted, I think you look great with your new beard and fedoras.
