Me and my Dad shortly before my daughter's wedding ceremony. Sophie had three grandparents in attendance. My Dad is the kid at 91.

Esther, my Dad has always been stylin'. Mom worked in the fashion industry in NYC. They were a glamorous couple.

It shows, and now we know where your grace comes from as well.

Oooh! That's very interesting.

My grandmother worked for a tailor and has had a huge influence on my life.
I was blessed, just like you are.

These pictures warm my heart.
It shows you all have a wonderful bond.

Yesterday went for a ride on the Sintra Atlantico tram, an old tram line from Sintra to Praia das Maças that have been deactivated long ago but was restored some years ago. This is a 11KM line with sharp turns, bends and it's very steep runs very slowly but the scenery worths it.

Because we were too many for 1 car, we had the luck to have a trailer.

We were granted a visit to the depot were some cars are in a restoration process and the ones used on Summer are stored along with a DEUTZ diesel locomotive for track and aerial line works

Joao, with every group of photos you post, Portugal moves up my list of must-visit countries. Thanks.
Must post more ;)

As a railroad historian, I am very impressed with this vintage equipment. I thank you for posting this treat just for me!
I think traction equipment is still original, some cars are 2nd hand from CARRIS (bus and tram operator in Lisbon). We didn't saw the power station that powers the aerial line, probably all modern now.
Other person that might love this is Ché, but I don't see him posting a long time ago.

Nice hat and tour pics, thanks Joao.
Thank you.

Hell, I'm an amateur/casual railroad enthusiast, and I find things like this fascinating! Thank you Joao!
Things in Portugal were amazing 10 years ago. Everything is getting bored since the old diesels and old electric trains have been withdraw. There are no more trains were you can open a window and glaze the scenary. It's all boxes with air conditioning with closed and dirty windows.
The future of Lisbon trams is uncertain also... the Sintra-Atlantico line runs because it's a "council/mayor/county" service funded.

This is one of my favorite threads, really enjoy seeing everybody out'n about. My wife and I have been on a recent road trip that included a stop at one of my favorite places, Che's (seabass) backyard. A little bit of Mexico in the Bay Area. We brought a bit of rain with us from the PNW. Looks a lot like a pic I posted here a couple yrs back
