Great stuff everyone! Daniele that looks incredible.
Ana, fantastic pics all around!
Dale-- man, I never pass up an opportunity to see Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. So good. Although the last time I did was at the Greek Theater in LA and The Who was playing across the freeway at the Hollywood Bowl, the day after John Entwistle died. So you might say we heard two concerts for the price of one!

Not very far afield, but here's the motley Duke Ellington concert crew. Appearances made by my silver belly tumwater and a Dobbs Milan.

Holidays in late July and early August in northern Spain.
The car ride was long (1800 km.) because we decided to go to the Northwest can then return to the East visiting the coast towards the French border. Three regions traveled far and wide: Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country.
The journey was made in two stages with pleasant stops in France and just past the Spanish border in the Basque Country. Then it was a succession of visits to particularly wild beaches and almost always deserted, considering that some of their impervious nature are inaccessible. While others can be crossed on foot at low tide. Great food consists above all in sea food and the like. In the Basque Country the kitchen is beautiful and is one of the gastronomic capitals, deservedly, in Spain. The return was done with a stop only in the exact middle of the path in a tiny and lovely village north of Nimes. I had some problems with my phone and many photographs are, alas, useless.

We attended a couple of fall festivals in northern Vermont this weekend...

DSC06727.jpg Passing by the fields of (I think) a marshmallow farm.
DSC06743.jpg Fresh apple samples; lots of variety of varieties!
DSC06754.jpg The Old Stone House Museum, where this festival was located. It was the vision and drive of Alexander Twilight, ca 1830.
DSC06787.jpg An old snow roller! In old Vermont, we didn't plow the snow, we rolled it! It was hard to light, but worked best for sleighs.
DSC06776.jpg I have NO idea WHAT this was, but it was cool enough to want to share with y'all! I need one!!
DSC06741a.jpg For the "Hatless" thread...

Lake Willoughby, in Westmore Vermont is one of those distinct natural landmarks visible from quite a distance. First photo shows Willoughby Gap only when enlarged to full size. The Gap vaguely appears in the second, but is unmistakable when standing on the south (or the northern) end of the lake.

Thank you for your compliment!
The second part of the journey on the northern Spanish coast has been a wandering march through the heather, rocks and the sea

Often we walked several kilometers to find the beaches and a few others .... to find the way back

Different types of coasts with various landscapes

No swimmer or inhabitants of deserted beaches for the water temperature and inaccessibility

The weather was capricious as always summer on the Atlantic Ocean

Wonderful villages very well sheltered from the fury of the sea in long bays

Days started with the sun going to end up in the rain spray or vice versa

The headlands are high in the middle of the sea and coastline often steep of a staggering beauty.

Fantastic Daniele! WHAT a trip, and now we all should understand that Gaudi is NOT gaudy, although the mistake could be made at first glance. Stunning work, and his was my personal favorite! Thank you again for this great trip!!!
