Got to visit Columbus, GA on Friday for work. It's a beautiful old town. I'm a sucker for old brick, train tracks, mills, town markets, etc. I didn't have a ton of time to visit the town, but I did take this shot on the Chattahoochee River, just outside my customer's office. Beautiful...

However, the highlight of my trip was visiting Golden Memorial Field (1926), a former minor league baseball stadium. Circa 1906, Columbus has been host to TONS of Hall of Famers, including Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Willie Mays, and Cal Ripken, Jr. That's only naming a few!

Baseball heaven right here, folks...

You would love Lowell, Mass AnA. One of the coolest mill towns with a great renovation program. We thought of living in a loft in one of the old mills when we moved back to New England some years ago.

The local minor league team, the Lowell Spinners, has a modern ballpark and is a Red Sox affiliate.

Unfortunately the local team here, the Fort Worth Cats, went out of business a year or so ago.

We could walk to the nice stadium in about 10 minutes. Looking the worse for wear already and probably going to be demolished soon.

We went to Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park today. They are flying 2,977 US flags to commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11. My wife and I came here in 2011 for the 10th anniversary. It was incredibly moving; an incredible experience. They names all of the names during a ceremony this morning. Touching, to say the least...

Some pics from the hike today. I wore my Cattleman and my friend wore an Akubra Plainsman (he is not pictured since I did not ask his permission to post pics).

It was extremely humid, so it was not the best day for a hike. Both of our families came with us, but when the kids started getting overheated we had to turn back. We had fun though!

Holidays in late July and early August in northern Spain.
The car ride was long (1800 km.) because we decided to go to the Northwest can then return to the East visiting the coast towards the French border. Three regions traveled far and wide: Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country.
The journey was made in two stages with pleasant stops in France and just past the Spanish border in the Basque Country. Then it was a succession of visits to particularly wild beaches and almost always deserted, considering that some of their impervious nature are inaccessible. While others can be crossed on foot at low tide. Great food consists above all in sea food and the like. In the Basque Country the kitchen is beautiful and is one of the gastronomic capitals, deservedly, in Spain. The return was done with a stop only in the exact middle of the path in a tiny and lovely village north of Nimes. I had some problems with my phone and many photographs are, alas, useless.

It is so called by the set of cliffs, some over 32 meters high, sculpted by wind and sea are spectacular arches and vaults leaving a wonderful landscape
