Thanks for sharing everyone. This is my favourite thread. It's great to see adventures from around the world.

Dale looks like a great day. It's these family adventures you remember. it seems like only yesterday that my daughter sat in my arms like that, next year she'll be going to college.

Best wishes

Greg

Thanks for the comments guys.

Joao, it's in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It's no longer used as a station, since the 1970s it's been a hotel. Many of those train cars are fixed up as hotel rooms. There's also several restaurants and shops there.

This morning we went back to the aquarium and saw the freshwater exhibit.

This ship was on display in the river. It carried and landed tanks and other equipment during WW2. It's the only one left still in service, or something to that effect.

Looks like fun Dale. That's a huge snapping turtle and it's looking at your toddler with what I'm guess'n is more than a casual interest. The sturgeon looks really small, they get to 10-12 feet long in the mighty Columbia River up here. The fishys are kool as is the folk art. The boy has a unique way with a lid ;)

Dale of the Deep! Great photos, such a bunch of cuties! Then add hats.... priceless!!!

The face jugs are just fantastic...

So, a couple of old (sorry, Perry, and I AM older than you!) Fedora Loungers decided to hold the first meeting of the North Shore Hat Club at the esteemed Amesbury HAT MUSEUM. The museum is dedicated to the MERRIMACK HAT COMPANY of Amesbury, Massachusetts, and displays (almost) exclusively Merrimack hats. By appointment only. Men's and (more) lady's hats were manufactured in Amesbury under the Merrimack trade name, many by the "Mor-felt" process. Those were wool, and seemed to be their primary offering. Fur felt hats were also made by Merrimack in a separate factory building, but there were no examples on display.

In just about two hours we ate, talked, saw the museum, checked on Perry's properly pampered Pooches, and really had a fantastic time.

Color enhanced version (in error, but I liked it!)

Thanks Charlie!
Glad to know someone else out there appreciates the mystery of the rural south.
Great shot of you and Perry, too. Looks like you guys had a blast.
