I am typing this with frozen fingers from the New Hampshire coast at Portsmouth. Absolutely beautiful. Got my VS pulled low against the wind.

Thank you Alan, Richard, David, Eric, and all!
Rogera Looks like you dressed to match the rocks today, Sir... Perfectly, too!
Winterland1, Larry takes a size 8, so boonies it is (although I have a secret plan...)
Landman you are so right about staring into a fire... it's the caveman in all of us, just add the drink!
Blackthorn at that latitude and the varying elevations, the best week is always around September 30. But you must take a few days, as then it's like watching ultra slow motion fireworks, constantly changing until it reaches its peak, or grand finale...

Sign of the season...

A Peters Bros. character from the Bay. Came complete with a patched moth hole... Find it!

Another season ends for Ted's "Looner Eclipse"

Larry's grandson, Lyric, looking extremely pleased with his new hat. VERY pleased. The seeds have taken...

Brim up like a smile for a favorite time of year... (VS lgt. Sage)

Creeping color on the hills...

Northern New Hampshire

A beautiful day in a VS Whiskey....

The mountain colors, EXPLOSIVE, are incredibly hard to capture in photos. The challenge keeps me forever trying for the perfect shot.

My hometown... billed as "The Maple Center of the World"

WOW. Charlie these photos are stunning. Would this be anywhere near the Berkshires?
Rogera, looks like you made it to a gorgeous retreat too!

Not near the Berkshires, Jeff, but about 175 miles (+-) north. Northeastern VT, AKA the"Northeast Kingdom" of Vt.

Great Stiil Life at your gig... My fav remains your opening concert (Mahler?) portrait of a week or so ago.

Wow, breathtaking landscapes in cascading "Rembrandt" color explosions! It's hard to imagine anything that beats the beauty of a withering forrest in the autumn. Sights like that feel like jellied honey on the soul. Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks Manfred and Ole.

Ole, I may be ready to re-approach the posting problem; as I'm stuck at home recuperating, pain meds mostly out of my system, I can almost think again!

Beautidul, beautiful shots guys. Thanks so much for sharing the fall colors and cool (cold Rogera?) weather. It's still in the 80s down here and not much color anywhere, but I'm enjoying the season vicariously through my pals in the lounge.

Charlie I am sure we went through your back yard. I have some beautiful foliage pics to post when we get back home. We spent Wed and Thursday in Stowe cut across last night to Rochester, we are in Maine right now and headed back to Boston this evening to fly home tomorrow. It is so beautiful in this part of the country

You are very, VERY lucky to have made that ride this week, Rog. Although some of that area was probably slightly past its peak, you had to see lots of areas of breathtaking color. I know the weather cooperated!

Sorry to have missed you, I'm always up for a good cup of coffee, or whatever...

Safe travel home.

Nice additions wine65, Charlie, and Roger. I just got back from a week on the road myself and while we enjoyed it immensely it's also great to settle again into the comforts of home. Lots of catching up to do both here and around the house.

Charlie and Roger, thanks for the vicarious pleasure. I sure do miss seeing that part of the world this time of year.
On the opposite coast, we were at the Point Reyes National Seashore this afternoon. The only problem is the government shutdown has caused the Park Service to close all access to the beaches and other attractions. It looks like I'm standing on the side of the highway somewhere in Nevada, but I'm just a couple of hundred yards from the Pacific Ocean. The view is looking east toward the Bolinas Ridge, on the other side of the San Andreas Fault from where I'm standing. The Campdraft came along for the ride.

Which comes first, Mike?

Real life first Charlie, there are consequences in that other mostly hatless world.

Magical pix scottyrocks, reminds me of the "Being There" movie poster.

Too bad about the park closure g., the tentacles of the govt are far reaching. There is a serious disconnect between the people and their elected representatives.
