Excellent, excellent video sir. Congratulations on the recognition. You should be proud to have a feather like that for your hat, so to speak, for your accomplishment

Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts.

Just returning home from a convention in Savannah this past week... lots of posts to catch up on!

I had an interesting, and entertaining, evening the other day. My company sponsored a special event fashion show. We specialize in corporate audio/video systems and teleconferencing solutions; and while we're not in the fashion business (though, the world is my HAT runway!), we work very closely with architectural firms and interior designers.

For the event the architects and designers were supposed to create an outfit to represent a certain aspect of the seasons. So there were 20 teams total, 5 per season. I'm not a fashion bug, but I was buzzed all night with these clever dresses and outfits. I don't have pics of all 20 dresses, but I do have some shots of the ones that I liked, and some selfies with the models! :) Sorry if some of my pics were blurry...

This one represented the inception of the printing press in the Winter:

Don't remember this season. This had something to do with the human genome. She's wearing a double helix!

Electricity (yes, those are lights on the dresses):

9/11. You can't see it well, but she's wearing a yellow arm sleeve to represent the first responders and all services that went to help.

One of my favorites...

Another favorite. This represented WWII. She wore a double-breasted military style coat, the bodice was made of metal to represent the military vehicles and air power, and the lower portion was shaped like a nuclear bomb mushroom cloud. VERY CLEVER and well executed!!!

First in Flight. This outfit was based on Leonardo Da Vinci's original drawings of the first manned apparatus.

Continuing...

Here was a dress that represented the fall of the Berlin wall. Notice the contrasting inside and outside of the lower dress. Can you guess what makes it so relevant?

Damn cold and windy on this Sunday Morning so I go with a Stetson Cap.

AnA and Chepstow they both look a good time, in different ways of course, but very enjoyable.
Chep mein freund, I especially enjoy a fleamarket and it's somthing I miss for now. The company of small bored children tends to dampen the experience, so I try to fill my weekends with more kid friendly pastimes. They will be big all too soon enough, so the flea markets can wait.

AnA, Looks like a great time. Super to see a Homburg in action!

Manfred, I have only seen the Schwebebahn at a distance. Will have to ride on it some day.

Manfred - I'm thinking there isn't a hat ever made that won't look good on your head. You're a fortunate man. You're also fortunate to live in a country with both culture and technology - even if it is cold in late September.

Manfred, the early bird catches the worm. No wonder you've been such a successful Flea Market Raider! Great setting for a Market and looks like fun.

It got quite a lot of attention that night! :) I was a little surprised that I didn't see any other hats on all of the guests. But once again, I was being a leader in that department! Ha!!

David, tell me how I can do what you do!!!

You kidding?? I'm jealous that YOU get paid being a professional musician! I love music, and I love to experiment with different instruments, but I can't really play anything. A few chords here and there on the piano and guitar. I can play drums and a blues harp. Sat in with a couple of bands on stage, which was very fun. But you and Al (aka - delectans) get paid to play your instruments. That's awesome!

I must admit, though, I really enjoy what I do. For 11 years I worked at a residential audio / video integrator with no room for advancement. A recruiter found me out of the blue to join with a larger commercial audio / video company, and the rest was history. It's been the best decision of my career so far! :)
